[Kurumi Tsuchimikado cosplay] Taiyuan Comic Con's Kurumi Swimsuit: A Blend of Refreshing Coolness and Dashing Charm

Shot a swimsuit set for Kurumi Tsuchimikado on site at Taiyuan Comic Con. Due to limited space, we picked a dim spot near lighting equipment so we could use a black background curtain to darken the backdrop and focus all visual attention between the character and water splashes. Before shooting, I was worried whether the Water splash effects could freeze crystal-clear droplets, but the photographer was super experienced, using high-speed sync flash to freeze the splashing water droplets vividly. To go with Kurumi's swimsuit look, I wore white fluffy animal ears, put on a translucent inflatable inner tube, and stood on a shallow water tray constantly stepping on the water. The whole process was quite physically demanding, as I had to keep the inner tube from slipping while maintaining facial expression control, but I'm really satisfied with the ambiance of the final photos.

Aside from the water play set, I also picked up the prop sword with blue glowing elements and tassels. The sword was built with solid material and felt quite heavy, but paired with my white fluffy fox tail, it presented a fresh combat stance distinct from playing in the water. Between the dynamic water play and the dashing sword-wielding posture, I found a unique outward tension for this character. Although the outfit itself is a cool swimsuit, combined with the weapon in hand, it doesn't look thin at all; instead, it brings a delightful contrast.

Regarding makeup, to fit the swimsuit theme, I chose a clear matte base to adapt to the complex lighting at the anime convention. For eye makeup, I slightly deepened the black eyeliner and lash outlines so that under direct flashlights, my gaze would remain sharp and not lose focus against the high-gloss water reflections. As for props, although the inflatable inner tube looked cute and bulky, controlling my balance while splashing water was essential to avoid slipping. Those perfectly composed shots with water splashing everywhere required trying water-splashing angles countless times behind the scenes, and the photographer adjusted my leg-lifting height repeatedly.

The temperature at the convention was actually quite mild, so shooting in a swimsuit didn't feel cold. In fact, due to the heavy foot traffic, this cool outfit easily became a visual focal point in the crowd. Many passersby stopped to ask for photos upon seeing my sword or inner tube, and a few were particularly interested in the craftsmanship of the prop sword. The Water splash effects on site heavily relied on instant snapshot timing—my movements and the splashing water droplets required seamless teamwork to succeed. During shooting breaks, I kept adjusting the splash height so the water-themed photos could present dynamic layers. Though this was just a simple swimsuit follow-up shoot without grand physical set builds, every photo reflected the dedication of the on-site photographer and support crew, from lighting setups to shutter timing.

Coming home and sorting through the hard drive, seeing these raw photos was truly exciting because that flowing sense of splashing water was captured perfectly. The shot yield and versatility of this styling were far higher than expected, leaving a vivid mark in this Anime convention cosplay record—whether through lively water play poses or crisp sword-wielding postures. Taiyuan Comic Con always has a warm, enthusiastic vibe, and I loved showcasing my ideas through cosplay at such an event. This swimsuit-centered photo set brought me a brand new visual experience; rather than standard battle gear, it felt like a cool summer breeze. It serves as a unique memory of summer, water splashes, and anime dressing that I brought back from Taiyuan Comic Con.
