[Yu Linglong Cosplay] Galaxy into Dreams, Doves Holding Shadows: The Chinese Aesthetics of NARAKA: BLADEPOINT

Just got the finished photos of this NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Yu Linglong cosplay, and the white tulle and plush elements present a very special temperament under the warm-toned lighting. While sorting out the costume and accessories before the shoot, I already felt that this look is incredibly rich in detail. The lightweight sheer fabric, combined with golden metal accessories and translucent bead strands, creates a beautiful refraction effect under the light.

This time, I specifically chose a vintage Chinese teeroom setting as the shooting location. The carved wooden lattices and bamboo rattan mats add a heavy texture to the frame, which, combined with the red and white flowers and potted bonsai plants behind me, creates a vivid color contrast. The photographer, Drama, put a lot of clever thought into the lighting arrangement. The warm yellow paper lantern on the top left serves as the main light source, casting soft, natural highlights on my face and body, giving the white tulle a dreamy, hazy look that perfectly fits the mood described in the post caption.

To capture the vivid yet slightly mysterious trait of the character Yu Linglong, I prepared two main props this time: a white lace folding fan and a long-stemmed Chinese pipe. The folding fan has an excellent texture, and holding it to cover my face or simply as an embellishment works perfectly. The shot where I'm holding the pipe is a state I personally love—leaning sideways against a white plush cushion, keeping my posture as relaxed and lazy as possible. Both my gaze and body language had to coordinate precisely to create a sense of effortless ease.

In the photos, going barefoot paired with white plush anklets is a major highlight of the styling. Although walking on the wooden floor and blankets required extra caution to maintain balance, the addition of this detail truly maxed out the overall 2D vibe for an Anime girl. The light pink wig is embellished with beast ears on both sides and light purple sheer fabric decorations, making the overall silhouette softer. For the eye makeup, we chose a touch of reddish eyeshadow paired with clear lip color to make the gaze look more spirited and gentle.

The sense of interaction during the shoot was very strong. When lying on the white plush cushion, the smooth material made it easy for my body to slide, requiring arm and core strength to maintain the shooting posture. In particular, the plush anklets would occasionally slide down due to leg movements, so the staff had to constantly help adjust their position. Although the process was quite tiring, seeing the moments in the frame where the folding fan gently waves and my elbow rests naturally on my thigh made all the hard work feel completely worth it.

The waist of this costume features a hollow-out design paired with metal chains, which both preserves the characteristics of traditional Chinese tailoring and incorporates modern aesthetic elements. In the sitting photo on the wooden chair, with my feet slightly crossed and one hand propping up my head, it beautifully showcases the lightweight, flowing nature of the outfit and the advantages of my body lines. This entire set doesn't intentionally pursue high-difficulty poses, focusing instead on expressing the character's personality through body extension and the aid of props.

The combination of a classical Chinese atmosphere and an anime look is a very interesting clash, making it a wonderful piece of Ancient style photography. From the overall light/shadow blur to the foreground composition, the photography team managed it beautifully, capturing the imagery of 'the galaxy falling into the mortal world' with a remarkably realistic texture. This finished set of Yu Linglong cosplay is one of my favorite recent works; it preserves the general essence of the original work while granting a certain uniqueness through the setting and props. I hope to share this Chinese-style cosplay aesthetics with everyone.
