This set of Wang Guiren Cosplay cherry blossom outdoor scene main photos is finally edited. On the morning of the shoot, the outdoor light was still quite cool, but the cherry blossoms happened to be blooming vigorously. To recreate the setting, this outfit features several layers of stacking, with the main body in a color block of deep wine red and light pink. The off-the-shoulder design at the shoulders, combined with white ruffles, helps elongate the body lines. I really love the patterns on the cuffs and hem; they are subtle motifs with a silky texture. The animal ears on my head were made with a lot of substance; the white fluff inside paired with the dark outer fabric looks very photogenic on camera. The oversized fluffy tail behind me required special adjustments every time I did a large sitting pose to make it spread naturally, otherwise, it would look bloated. To capture the sitting poses well, the photographer set up a small black folding stool on the steps, making the stretching angles of the legs easier to control.
The outdoor location was chosen on the steps of an urban walkway, surrounded on both sides by blooming clusters of white flowers, with deep grey slate ground scattered with many white petals. In this set of photos, the folding fan is the core prop; its patterns and colors echo the red elements of the costume. The shoot was divided into two lighting environments. For the daytime outdoor part, the gentle light beautifully showcased the matte texture of the costume and the layered depth of the Anime-style makeup. For the nighttime part, we directly used harsh light from a flash; the reflection rate of the black steps was just right, making the subject in the foreground look highly translucent, and the spring vibes immediately popped out. This outfit and makeup styling put a lot of thought into the wig details; the curve of the bangs and the braided hair on both sides were secured using hairpins and red ribbons, giving the overall look a highly distinct ancient fantasy flavor through this piece of Cosplay photography.
During the shooting process, it was inevitable to repeatedly adjust postures. Standing up with wide sleeves combined with raising the folding fan could generate powerful tension, while placing the legs to the side when sitting and holding the folding fan appeared steady and soft. When selecting standing shots, care must be taken not to let the wide sleeves cover the patterns of the folding fan while keeping the body extended. In the sitting shots, to let the tail and the clothing hem spread out with more layers, the photographer and I patiently tried several angles. Although the big tail has some weight, once positioned well, it definitely enhances the character's spirit fox traits. In terms of post-processing color grading, we didn't use heavy filters but instead preserved the original, slightly cool white tone of the cherry blossoms, keeping the frame clean and bright while making the skin tone look more ruddy and natural. The blooming period of cherry blossoms is fleeting, so being able to hit the perfect scenery at this exact time point gave the entire team a huge sense of accomplishment. The character feels perfectly matched with the spring flower scenery, and I hope everyone can feel the dedication put into this outdoor shoot through this set of photos.
