[Ellen Joe cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's lazy moments, just wanting to fall fast asleep after shooting

Preparing this look for Zenless Zone Zero's Ellen Joe wasn't actually complicated, but accurately capturing that taste of being both lazy and a bit cool still required some polishing of details. The black hair and that eye-catching red streak at the hair ends are key, and adding a few black bobby pins casually clipped to the side immediately brought out that effortlessly relaxed feel. In terms of hairstyle handling, the irregular cutting of the bangs and layers of varying lengths nicely framed the face, making the overall silhouette look more three-dimensional and natural in front of the lens.

In terms of makeup, I deliberately chose eyeshadow with subtle reddish tones to echo the red in the hair, while emphasizing the shading under the eyes and at the outer corners, making the gaze look sleepy yet not to be underestimated. Black nail polish and the wide choker around the neck set the basic tone of the entire styling, adding lots of rebellious little thoughts to the otherwise basic white shirt. For lip color, I chose a lustrous pink shade, neutralizing the cold stiffness of the black-and-red palette and adding a touch of a young girl's playfulness and agility.

For the outfit, I chose the simplest fitted white shirt with sleeves rolled up to the elbows, making it both easy to move and revealing slender forearms. Unbuttoning one or two buttons at the collar, paired with the black choker, visually elongated the neckline. The high-waisted black pleated skirt and wide black leather belt with a silver square buckle raised the waistline, paired with black tights (Black tights outfit) and a black shoulder bag, creating a very distinct black-and-white contrast. The black tights outlined the leg lines in the sitting pose; although it's a classic everyday JK uniform style (Uniform cosplay), with the blessing of the hairstyle and makeup, it gained a unique character temperament. The hardware details and small pompom decorations on the shoulder bag also broke the dullness of pure black.

The entire photoshoot process was actually quite tiring, especially having to maintain that relaxed posture while ensuring the camera captured the best angles. The red-and-white lollipop in my hand played a great psychological role when posing, as if I were truly just slacking off, eating candy to pass the time. The advantage of a white background is that it cleanly highlights the person without messy colors stealing the visual focus, and for me as a cosplayer, the reflector effect of the white background made the state of my eyes and skin appear exceptionally translucent in front of the lens.

Actually, during the breaks between shooting, I really couldn't help yawning a few times. Having slept too late the night before, combined with the weight and stuffiness of wearing a wig on my head, I had to sit down on the spot to rest for a while. The sitting pose in the photo was also a natural, relaxed state of mine at the time, with one hand casually smoothing my hair and the other holding the lollipop. When the photographer snapped the shot, I didn't even realize that this posture happened to capture the character's casual, careless demeanor just right.

When taking off the wig and high heels, the only thought left in my whole being was really 'I want to sleep.' But looking at these raw photos on the screen, I felt that all the exhaustion earlier was worth it. This sense of laziness not only comes from the character's own setting, but also from my real-time state of being exhausted from shooting. So the copy saying 'want to sleep' is actually my most authentic endorsement of the results after tossing and turning for half a day. This presentation style, which requires no deliberate posturing, is actually closer to the character's due spontaneity and unruliness. Without complex backdrops or tedious post-production special effects, cleanly restoring the costume and demeanor should be the greatest respect to this cosplay. I hope future shoots can also maintain this relaxed yet photogenic state.
