Bringing Arknights W's Celebration Night qipao ensemble from preparation to the final shoot took roughly half a month. Sculpting the wig was the initial hurdle: W's iconic white twin ponytails paired with black-and-red horn ornaments demanded crisp hair wax finishing along the ends to prevent stray frizz, while ponytail placement was adjusted repeatedly to ensure harmonious profile proportions. Cosmetics avoided heavy color blocks, relying on orange-red eyeshadow gradients to echo the burgundy fabric piping, accented by under-eye touches to mirror W's signature calm detachment.

The garment layering was richer than anticipated. The halter neckline splices silvery-white chiffon with brown jacquard fabric, edged in vibrant red piping. Despite warm studio conditions, I kept the plush fur stole on continuously to maintain its full volume, pairing it with matte-finished silver metallic armbands to prevent specular glares from breaking the vintage tone. The qipao cut features open shoulders along the flanks; seated poses required deliberate posture awareness so the black thigh straps and orange accent buckles could showcase naturally before the camera.

The set was staged in an interior accented with carved Chinese wooden latticework screens and golden drapery. Photographer JNK Stray Dog invested deep care into lighting design. The profile standing shot in Photo 1 utilized rear-rim lighting to outline the plush collar in a warm golden halo while chiseling the neck and shoulder lines along the chiaroscuro boundary. Rather than forcing aggressive poses, I embraced relaxed seated and standing postures paired with an unwavering focal gaze to convey restrained tension. The weighty fur stole resting across the arms restricted mobility, yet I preserved its fluffiness between takes to avoid odd creases. The finalized images exceeded expectations: warm lighting and timber textures elevated the mood, allowing subtle textile jacquards to shimmer cleanly under the strobes in this rewarding Game cosplay collaboration.
