[Arknights Sui family cosplay] Full Ensemble Gathering at Traditional Chinese Architecture for Dragon Boat Festival

Heaven has four seasons, and the Sui beasts gather together. We originally intended to shoot a Sui family reunion set for the Lunar New Year, but due to work schedule conflicts among group members, it was delayed all the way to the Dragon Boat Festival, turning unexpectedly into a festive family gathering.

Preparing the costumes and makeup was demanding, especially the wigs and dragon horns. Everyone on the team put immense effort into faithfully recreating each character's traits. Chongyue's costume was richly layered, Ling's outfit was sharp and capable, Shu had an ethereal vibe, Ji leaned warm in tone, while Nian and Dusk created a striking visual impact with their contrasting red and black colors. To preserve the styling and makeup, we gathered as early as 4:00 AM. The shoot took place in a traditional Chinese garden with carved wooden window lattices. The positioning for a group of six required meticulous care; our photographers Hanshan and Kei spent extensive time finding angles, balancing the full visibility of each person with the depth of light and shadow. For instance, in the pavilion shots, light filtering through the window grilles onto faces required repeated adjustments of our standing spots to balance highlights and shadows, which also nicely accentuated leg lines.

The most fun moment that day was the shot where everyone crouched on the rocks. Because the rocks were damp and uneven, maintaining that layered pose almost made people slip. Fortunately, the resulting photos turned out super cool. The weather was rather hot and humid, so wearing thick coats and boots soaked our base layers with sweat, yet everyone immediately slipped into character the moment the camera pointed our way. Snapping photos of everyone cooling off with handheld fans during breaks created a hilarious contrast with our imposing looks in the final photos. With so many people, coordinating the shoot relied heavily on assistant support—constantly tidying wigs and accessories and double-checking prop placements. Behind every vivid, natural expression lay an abundance of tedious preparation. During post-processing, we intentionally lowered saturation and enhanced textural contrast to match the Sui family's mysterious, ancient behemoth aura. Although we missed the New Year, the aroma of zongzi leaves and the ancient architecture felt surprisingly well-matched for Dragon Boat Festival. Imperfections make the best memories.
