Finally got the convention photos from the New Year's Firefly ACG Expo! While navigating through the hallway, I spotted a corridor with massive advertisement lightboxes, which, paired with dim overhead lighting, created a fantastic sense of space. Legendary photographer @Mujingti instantly caught on to the venue's potential, feeling it was ideal for a tactical setting infused with light effects. Improv-style, we grabbed a metal step stool from the convention floor to leverage the corridor's depth for a much more impactful composition.

The centerpiece of this Evelynn cosplay outfit lies in the lower half's glossy black leather pants and high-heeled boots. Patent leather like this eats up light under complex convention overhead lamps; without extra care, it easily overexposes or loses texture. The photographer specifically accounted for this when setting up lights—using ambient reflections paired with post-processed orange line light effects to compress the outline and sheen of the leather pants perfectly. It retained shadow details while anchoring that sleek, combat-ready attitude.

The upper white shirt, paired with black tactical harnesses and short braided light-blonde hair, exudes a crisp, untouchable cool. During shooting, I intentionally adjusted the tie and jacket flare to complement the boots' height, transitioning between standing and sitting poses to convey an urban agent's confidence and intimidating pressure. Holding short blade props, I struck several sharp offensive stances, including high-stepping lunges. Though these poses demand core tightness, wearing this gear felt surprisingly snug without restricting movement.

With heavy convention foot traffic, shooting in a relatively narrow corridor places immense demands on the photographer's snapshot timing and crowd control. The soul of this set lies in merging ambient event lighting with post-processed orange-red ray effects. Those crisscrossing orange light beams weren't added out of thin air—they were mapped onto ground reflection points and cold lightboxes to form a hot-cold color contrast, delivering a futuristic, dynamic urban visual.

For dark-toned tactical Cosplay photography, prop textures, outfit materials, and subtle facial tweaks are paramount. In these photos, the wig's layering looks remarkably natural without feeling heavy. I deepened the eye makeup so the eyeshadow and liner pairing kept my gaze sharp and focused even under dim lighting. Sitting on the metal step stool in particular allowed for a relaxed pose while visually extending the black jacket and trousers, keeping the commanding presence intact.

The whole shoot moved incredibly fast thanks to great synergy with the photographer—fewer forced poses and more dynamic moments captured candidly. That's why I always love collaborating with this photographer; they consistently spot untapped angles in any environment and amplify the character's best traits. This combination of black leather pants and a white shirt left me with thoroughly satisfying memories from the New Year's holiday convention.
