[Velina cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero: Convention Blockbuster of the Aloof Elf

From the moment I received this Velina cosplay costume, I spent considerable time pondering how to fully bring out that aloof yet commanding aura. Starting with fabric selection, the deep-blue sections are crafted from a soft velvet with a subtle sheen, reflecting an exceptionally premium texture under the overhead convention hall lights. The crisp white panels provide structured tailoring, while the white tassels and silver chains dangling from the waist chime softly against one another with every step—nuanced details like these truly breathe life into the overall character styling.

The wig is a long, straight cut in an ash-white tone, a color that can easily look flat and lifeless without deliberate styling. To counter this, I added volume at the crown to elevate the root profile, curled the ends inward with a gentle bend, and anchored an oversized white bow adorned with golden studs at the back, instantly lifting the visual focal point. Applying the elf ears is an intricate technique: using derma wax to seamlessly blend the edges into the skin and pairing them with golden-yellow earrings ensured the side-profile silhouette flowed smoothly.

For eye makeup, I blended reddish-brown eyeshadow across the outer corners. Because the character's eyes lean purple, I wore violet-grey contact lenses and swept a subtle reddish tint along the lower lash line to enhance dimensional depth under cool lighting. The folding fan served as the crowning prop of the ensemble; its white leaves accented by blue ribs and yellow motifs enriched the framing whether raised to veil half of my face or held gracefully in front.

The convention venue actually offered a fantastic backdrop—the exposed steel truss ceilings and grey epoxy flooring naturally supplied an industrial, cold-edged grit. The photographer, Juanbai, is remarkably skilled at capturing kinetic energy. To showcase the high-slit design of the dress alongside the white Fishnet stockings and silver platform high heels, we explored numerous poses on site. With such tall platform heels, holding standing poses proved physically demanding, requiring core stability to keep my balance steady. Yet slightly raising the heels and angling my body sideways visually elongated my proportions, accentuating sleek leg lines for the lens. The white Fishnet stockings, detailed with blue stripes and lace trim, revealed exquisite texture under low-key lighting—vital elements for manifesting the character's charm. The resulting photos delivered top-tier lighting and tactile quality, bringing this visual portrayal of Velina to a thoroughly satisfying finish.
