[Vivian cosplay] Summer beach Elf ears experience from Zenless Zone Zero

For this summer interpretation of Vivian, I chose to shoot within an indoor artificial beach studio. To faithfully recreate Vivian's distinct character presence from Zenless Zone Zero, I poured substantial effort into hair, makeup, and wardrobe subtleties beforehand. Pairing lavender locks with prosthetic Elf ears alongside a nautical-inspired white swimsuit accented by deep navy straps delivered an exceptionally crisp, refreshing aesthetic. Studio temperatures ran quite warm on shoot day, but to lock in pristine visual payoff, I continually dialed in my physical energy and focus.

The standout highlights of this outfit lie in the open back and strappy waist details, both of which I emphasized across various posing angles. Lounging across the blue-and-white striped beach chair holding a rubber duckling, or perching on the wooden decking cradling a transparent swim ring, every shot aimed to radiate the effortless serenity of a seaside escape. The photographer calibrated lighting with great care, replicating warm sunlight dancing across artificial sand and water surfaces to give the final frames an unmistakable high-summer essence.

As a cosplayer tackling summer-themed character concepts, emotional conveyance is paramount. It extends far beyond showcasing an outfit; the character's enigmatic poise interwoven with playful charm must emerge organically through eyes and body language. Whether seated at the pool's edge gazing into the lens or leaning back languidly in the deckchair, every gesture strove to channel her innate temperament. Grooming the wig and managing accessories tested my patience: the position of the Elf ears required millimeter-precise tweaks to blend seamlessly without breaking continuity before the camera.

To complement this look, accessories were treated with equal diligence. The star badge across the bust, the dark navy ribbon bow at the neckline, and the white detached arm warmers all served as crucial anchors elevating overall faithfulness. Between setups, the photographer and I deliberated over pose ergonomics—such as how to hold the swim ring so the arms looked natural rather than rigid. Despite being an indoor shoot, lush greenery, wooden barrels, and lounge chairs worked together to build an authentic coastal resort atmosphere.

The fabric captured studio strobes with gorgeous tactile texture, creating striking contrast between white ruffled frills and navy suspender straps. I kept my body relaxed during poses to ensure movement flowed effortlessly, frequently repeating setups to freeze that single elusive, perfect moment. Looking back at the finished photographs, every bit of persistence proved deeply worthwhile.

During pre-production, my biggest debate was balancing canonical character identifiers with the breezy summer motif. Ultimately, I chose clean, vibrant palettes and buoyant props to achieve that equilibrium—such as the transparent swim ring and colorful beach ball injecting vibrant life into the frames. My on-camera presence transitioned from slightly guarded to completely fluid, steadily sinking into this character's breezy summer cadence.

When it comes to detail control, I firmly believe authentic tactile presence trumps heavy artificial polish. Therefore, I opted for a dewy, translucent base makeup, complemented by soft pink eyeshadow echoing her eye color. Manicuring received meticulous care since numerous poses brought fingers into tight macro framing. The entire shoot was not merely an interpretive acting performance, but a rewarding exercise in personal patience and visual expression. Everything flowed seamlessly from set construction to costume fidelity. I hope this series shares the radiant warmth of summer, and I look forward to bringing more diverse cosplay works to life.
