Bringing Ju Fufu from Zenless Zone Zero to the anime convention this time was truly a special experience. Preparing this costume until finally putting it on took a lot of thought and effort, especially that fluffy, large white Beast tail and pair of rounded animal ears, which required repeated adjustments to maintain natural curves when worn. The yellow-and-black color-blocked cropped jacket paired with the gray inner shirt matches the character's capable aesthetic nicely, while the black shorts accented with gold rivets on the side and red drawstrings add rich detail and layering to the lower half. What pleased me most was that pair of oversized beast paw gloves—the paw pad modeling on the fingertips is incredibly cute and soft, and every time I raised my hands toward the lens to make a pouncing gesture, I could feel the unique charm of beast-kin characters.

Foot traffic at the convention was far heavier than imagined. Moving through the exhibition hall in this gear, every few steps brought inquiries from photographers or fellow fans asking for photos. Because the Beast tail is quite large, weaving through crowds meant being careful not to bump into neighboring booths, but this immersive experience actually made me even more engaged with the character. To convey Ju Fufu's lively yet slightly sly spirit, I kept my expressions as animated as possible before the camera. The green contact lenses made my gaze appear brighter, which, combined with the straight-bangs long blonde hair, achieved the exact visual effect I had envisioned.

During the shoot, I deliberately experimented with diverse poses—such as holding up both paws in a cute pose, turning sideways to showcase the details of the thigh garter straps and ring, and playfully holding fluffy props with one hand. This outfit features distinct highlights in leg styling: black hot pants paired with white stockings and platform leather shoes, plus the black garter strap on the thigh hanging a small bell, which visually elongates the lines and adds iconic character elements. Many photographers complimented the fullness of the Beast tail; in fact, to maintain its fluffiness and flexibility, I built an internal support skeleton so it wouldn't droop even while walking around.

For makeup adjustments, I intentionally applied blush lightly, as the character's inherent demeanor leans toward clean and crisp rather than heavy stage makeup. The eyeliner was slightly upturned and paired with natural false lashes to give the eyes extra sparkle. The animal ears on the hat were custom handcrafted, with hidden hair clips and straps inside securing them firmly so they wouldn't shift easily even during a full day of shooting. However, lighting conditions at the convention were complex; some overhead lights were cool-toned, making skin tones appear too pale in shots, so I frequently checked camera previews on set and communicated lighting angles with photographers to capture the most accurate colors.

Putting on and taking off this outfit isn't too cumbersome, but once wearing the paw gloves, holding water bottles or operating smartphones becomes quite difficult, so I took off the paws during breaks for hydration. The indoor temperature at the convention was moderate; I only wore a thin base layer inside the jacket, yet the fluffy Beast tail and gloves still caused slight sweating, but fortunately the venue had air conditioning, making the overall experience quite comfortable. Additionally, the wooden plaque hanging around my neck was part of the props; though inscribed with pass-like glyphs, I feel it added an adventurer party member feel to the entire look, brimming with narrative flavor.

I received plenty of interesting feedback during this shoot—someone noted that my standing posture closely resembled the in-game idle animations, while others praised the fantastic texture of the beast paws, reassuring me that all prior preparations were worth it. As a cosplayer, I strive to capture character expressions and movement details without rigid imitation, preferring to weave in my own understanding so the photos carry both the character's soul and my personal touch. The interactive atmosphere at anime conventions is always heartwarming, with everyone complimenting each other's outfits and styling, making for precious exchanges.

I remember bumping into several friends also cosplaying other characters from Zenless Zone Zero that day. We took some fun interactive group shots, and though I'm sharing solo Convention photos first, that feeling of fellow fans gathering together was truly wonderful. Regarding Ju Fufu, I feel she possesses an ostensibly languid yet inherently sharp trait, so while shooting I consciously controlled my eye focus—alternating between a subtle, lazy smile and alert, vigilant postures. This contrast tested expression control, but produced remarkably vivid results.

Finally, special thanks to the friends and photographers who captured these moments that day. Before each shutter press, they patiently guided me in adjusting angles so the Beast tail, ears, and gloves could be presented in the most natural state within the frame. Though the convention lasted only a few hours, these photos are enough to savor for a long time. Every time I revisit these works, I discover new details—such as the cuff textures, metallic fasteners on the pants, and subtle highlights on the shoes—all repeatedly confirmed during prep, and seeing them turn out so well is deeply rewarding. I look forward to bringing this cosplay to more venues in the future, capturing even more fascinating scenes under different light and shadow.
