"Hello there, my accomplice"—this title carries a wonderful feel, perfectly matching Remielle's elusive, playfully mysterious nature in Zenless Zone Zero. From the moment I decided on this character for this shoot, I kept thinking about how to present her unique serene aura.
In terms of attire, this battle outfit with a white base, light blue collar, and cutout design is incredibly recognizable. While maintaining elegance, the upper body design cleverly utilizes straps and metal buckles to create a crisp feel, accompanied by two hanging light-purple tassels that produce a wonderfully airy dynamic effect when moving. To better recreate the character, I specially matched pink hair and elf ear props; although securing the ear cuffs took a bit of effort, the final result looks very natural. The large ruffles on the sleeves paired with metal rings are a highlight of this look, vividly capturing that floating texture. Of course, I must mention this White thigh-highs outfit and silver sequined high heels, which not only beautifully extend the leg line within the overall bright white high-key environment, but also add a touch of pure texture to the entire look.
The shooting location was one I personally loved. The photographer prepared an indoor scene with a strong French dome style, featuring white Roman columns and arched window frames, paired with blue-and-white floral arrangements meticulously crafted by the set designer. The overall color logic was remarkably unified, consisting entirely of cool tones and soft whites. The white plush carpet laid across the bottom of the frame, combined with high-key, transparent lighting, eliminated deep shadows, making the entire scene look dreamlike as if an angel had descended. Especially when sunlight penetrated the gothic window panes and spilled over my hair and dress, the feather edges of the wings lit up with a soft glow.
During the shoot, I constantly experimented with different body language to fit her identity as an "accomplice." Poses included elegant side-seating as well as inviting forward-leaning interactions; I even held a bouquet of blue-and-white flowers as a prop, hoping to convey the character's narrative through the lens. The synergy with the photographer was seamless—he guided me in adjusting angles to ensure the outfit's details and overall charm were captured from the best perspective. The blue floral arrangements and white wings in the scenery, combined with the bright atmosphere, perfectly suited this character's setting.
For makeup, a translucent white base was chosen to pair with pink-purple eyeshadow echoing the hair color, accented with fine shimmer on the eyes—retaining doll-like delicacy while making the eyes look more spirited on camera. Looking closely, one can also see the light red contact lenses I wore, which appeared exceptionally translucent under high-key photography light. Regarding props, besides the signature elf ears, a lot of effort went into the pair of white feather wings on my back. To make them look voluminous without appearing bulky from specific angles, we adjusted gear setups to ensure the wings wouldn't hit the ground during seated or crouching poses.
I particularly love the composition holding the flowers—holding blue and white roses not only echoed the background floral sea, but also felt like a small ritualistic promise between the character and the audience, filled with a sense of ceremony. Post-processing for this set focused primarily on enhancing soft light and preserving details without over-saturating colors, retaining the original pure white of the garment. Although wearing heavy sleeves and wings while switching between various seated and standing postures tested my physical stamina, seeing the final output texture made all the exertion completely worthwhile. Great care was poured into polishing this photography session, striving for perfection from fine-tuning light angles to arranging outfit details. Thanks to the hard work of the photographer and stylist, this Remielle Cosplay project achieved such a splendid presentation as an Anime girl. What satisfies me most about this Cosplay portrait photography is that clean, transparent, yet subtly mysterious atmosphere, hoping to bring out the character's true essence.
