[Vivian cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero's Lightness and Danger Intertwined

The focus of this Vivian cosplay look is to present the character's temperament where lightness and danger coexist. From the early selection to the actual execution, every accessory on the outfit strives to match the original setting, especially the combination of the wig and the elf ear style, which lays the cool-toned foundation for the entire look.

The wig features a low-saturation light purple long curly style, with a very soft and light texture that doesn't feel heavy. Paired with the long, pointed elf ears, it makes the facial features look more exquisite. For the makeup, instead of pursuing overly exaggerated or heavy eyeshadow, I used elongated eyeliner and natural-looking highlighters to create a sense of breathability in the facial features, which is perfect for outdoor street photography under bright light.

The white off-the-shoulder shirt on the upper body is the visual focus of the look. The wide lantern sleeve design retains a sense of layering. The off-the-shoulder cut not only offsets the potential dullness brought by the black skirt hem but also presents a crisp and neat visual effect under the sunlight. The bowtie features a deep blue multi-layered structure adorned with subtle stripe details, which, when paired with the black rigid lace-up corset, nicely raises the waistline proportion.

The layers of the lower body skirt hem are highly intricate, spliced with a striped edge carrying blue textures and white lace trimmings, offering an excellent overall drape. The black stockings combined with the strap decoration at the thigh are a detail I really love in this entire look, which, paired with these black platform shoes, exudes a very sharp style. Especially the purple bow ribbon at the ankle not only embellishes the footwear but also echoes the hair color and the pattern of the umbrella's inner lining in terms of color, giving the full outfit a clear visual focus.

In terms of props, this black umbrella was the core assistant on the day of the shoot. The outside of the umbrella is pure black, but the inner side is printed with a striking purple and white bicolor floral pattern. Opening it on a bright sunny day creates a very soft reflector effect on the face. The contrast between the umbrella's shadow and the intense sunlight makes the light and shadow relationship between the subject and the background three-dimensional and rich.

The shooting venue that day was selected in an old neighborhood with a red brick wall, where the rough brick texture formed a unique contrast with the modern advertising signs. The photographer is highly skilled at using architectural structures for composition, so we tried different camera positions such as brick niches and corridors. Especially at that niche position, utilizing a high-angle shot perspective beautifully elongated the leg lines, fully showcasing the exquisiteness of the platform shoes and ankle ribbons.

The direct light of a midsummer sunny day heavily tests on-site control. To balance the backlit and illuminated sides, we paid special attention to the relationship between the umbrella surface and the shooting angle. Although shooting under the overhead light consumed a lot of energy, in the final photos, that strong contrast between light and dark perfectly matched the tone of this makeup and outfit look. The side-backlight tracing a soft layer of halo along the edges of the hair strands also made the overall image texture translucent.

To adapt to the hot outdoor environment, we did ample makeup-setting preparation beforehand and did timely touch-ups during the shooting breaks, ensuring that the skin maintained an excellent texture in every close-up. Although the prop was lightweight, maintaining a standing or sitting posture while holding the umbrella for a long time still required a certain amount of core strength to keep steady.

Besides the close-ups, the snapshots taken in the corridor also felt great. When walking, the skirt hem would naturally flip with each step, and the platform shoes stepping on the floor tiles made the whole posture look more upright. The dark corset structure not only achieved a better visual effect but also made the body lines clearer.

Although the process of producing the photos this time was tiring, my understanding of this look went one layer deeper. A great shooting state requires not only early gear preparation but also the acute capture of light on-site. I really enjoyed this atmospheric feeling of being surrounded by the red brick wall, bright light, and black and purple elements. This was an immersive cosplay photography experience highly worth recording.
