I have been shooting Blue Archive cosplay for a full year now. While organizing my photo albums, I realized that the amount of material has far exceeded my expectations, even to the point where I have to make some tough choices. Over the past year, from being occasionally stiff in front of the camera at the beginning to now handling various lighting and environmental setups more comfortably, my overall state has definitely changed a lot.

The outfits and scenes in the pictures can be seen as a record of different stages over this past year. There is a playful sitting posture holding a sketchbook under warm yellow indoor lighting, an outdoor composition where I am striding with a cane in front of European-style buildings as an outdoor location share, and a refreshing look where I am casually leaning on a swim ring by the pool. There are even domestic daily life fragments of napping in a tatami room while blowing an electric fan; the experience brought by each atmosphere is entirely unique.

During this process, what took the most time was actually polishing the details. From the smoothness of the wig and the natural curve of the hair ends to the specific neckties and cuff decorations on different Anime-style fashion pieces, everything requires repeated adjustment and ironing to present the ideal state in front of the camera. Coordinating with the lighting of different scenes is also very interesting. The benefit of natural light is its strong sense of realism, but controlling the contrast of light and shadow relies on adjusting my position and angle to compensate. Although indoor artificial light is controllable, it often presents the challenge of whether the color temperature matches the costume's colors.

For character Roleplay, grasping the expression is often a greater test of expressiveness than the costume itself. No matter how accurate the accessories are, if the movement is stiff, it ruins the effect. After shooting multiple times, I have figured out my own approach, such as keeping the hand holding the prop relaxed, having a focused gaze, and finding the most relaxed center of gravity, so that the captured dynamic sense feels natural.

This hobby has indeed brought a lot of pure joy, and it has also helped me grow in terms of photography and aesthetics. I have accumulated a wealth of experience in the post-processing and prop matching of halos and headpieces, and the final results are becoming closer and closer to my initial visions. I hope to maintain this creative passion in the future, using authentic lens language to present more contagious imagery through my Cosplay photography journeys.
