This time, I teamed up with @叶浔 to shoot a set of tavern-themed photos, with me as Eula and her as Lumine. To restore that tipsy yet slightly lazy ambiance, we put a lot of thought into the set design, finally selecting this scene featuring a retro wooden wine cabinet and warm pendant lights. When shooting this set, I focused on adjusting Eula's costume details. The cut of this outfit is quite demanding on body shape; to support the tailoring of the upper garment, I tried several versions of the inner layer before finally choosing the one with the highest fit. The splicing texture of the outer blue material and white sleeve covers photographs exceptionally well under warm light. The boots are custom-made, with the leather's reflective effect looking great, and I pre-adjusted the angles of the thigh straps and silver metal decorations to ensure they wouldn't slip or look awkward when walking or posing. When acting alongside Ye Xun, our chemistry was truly amazing. We tried using a cheering action to express the leisurely feel of the two encountering each other in a tavern. To keep the frame from looking too rigid, I purposely tilted my body's center of gravity slightly, which not only flattered my body curves but also made the lines of the boots and legs appear more slender. Lumine's white stockings contrasted with my black long boots, instantly bringing out a strong sense of layering in the frame. When shooting night scenes or indoor dim lighting, everyone must pay attention to lighting. This time we mainly used a combination of key light and fill light, with the key light coming from the front-side, which not only darkened the background to make the characters pop out, but also gave the wig hair strands more layering, with rim lights outlining the silhouette. I deliberately trimmed and styled Eula's wig to ensure distinct layers, and for the eye makeup, I deepened the blending at the outer corners of the eyes to carry a hint of cold sharpness, yet combined with the tavern's lighting, it added a touch of gentleness. Actually, every time I do a cosplay, from costume patterning to makeup adjustment, and then running through poses with my partner, the whole process itself is an immersive experience. We tried several angles in front of the bar counter and ultimately felt that the moment of side-facing cheering best captured the relationship between the characters. What was actually in the cup was grape juice, but looking through the filter, it had quite the texture of red wine. I hope this set of photos can convey that relaxed, conversational retro ambiance.
