The exhibition halls at Gamescom were buzzing with incredible energy, and I arrived on site channeling Belle from Zenless Zone Zero. Achieving a high-fidelity visual reproduction demanded immense dedication during hair, makeup, and wardrobe preparation. The wig was chosen in a vivid, high-saturation electric blue, cut into face-framing layers, while the eye makeup accentuated subtle reddish wings to capture the character's signature demeanor before the camera.
Without question, the centerpiece of the booth was the colossal blue-and-white Bangboo mascot, sporting its iconic toothy grin that instantly drew every eye. Posing beside this charming companion, I experimented with varied stances: in the first shot, turning slightly with hands clasped conveyed a guarded yet ready-for-action edge; in the second shot, raising a salute with my right hand while resting the left on my hip projected effortless confidence and pep. Body language is essential in cosplay photography—especially with street-techwear aesthetics, where movements must communicate grounded tension and athletic power.
Wardrobe-wise, I wore an orange and deep-blue spliced techwear vest whose reflective strips and zipper hardware stood out three-dimensionally under venue spotlights, layered over a black long-sleeve tee with white graphics. The bottom paired an asymmetrical dark mini skirt with black over-the-knee socks and platform sneakers—staying true to her canon design while providing essential comfort for extended walking and standing at the convention. Waist charms, fingerless gloves, necklaces, and wristbands served as vital components of the ensemble, enriching character depth and preventing the look from falling flat on camera.
Navigating the chaotic show floor with its shifting crowds and mixed lighting pushed both my posing stamina and the photographer's timing. Collaborating closely, we framed compositions around the booth backdrop and giant mascot. In the third shot, leaning gently against a plush shark companion with one leg kicked back showcased the sleek line of the stockings while introducing a fun, dynamic interaction. In the fourth shot, leaning backward while playfully reaching into the mascot's jaws added a touch of mischievous banter.
Countless fans stopped by to snap photos, and their shared passion for Zenless Zone Zero and Belle was deeply heartwarming. No matter how bustling the surroundings became, stepping before the lens required locking instantly into the character's spirited mindset. The booth illumination caught the reflective accents and blue wig with remarkable texture, thanks to the photographer's sharp eye for light and shadow. Every expo appearance is a true test of physical endurance, yet bringing a beloved character into reality and sharing that joy makes every moment worthwhile. I will continue honing every nuance to deliver my best at every shoot.
