[Touhou Project Trying on clothes] Daily Log of Layered Lace and Polearm

Upon slipping into this Touhou Project style outfit, the most immediate impression was the sheer weight and drape brought by its multi-layered construction. The top features classic green-and-white plaid fabric crafted with numerous asymmetrical cuts—the left shoulder is draped with dramatic, wide white ruffles, while the right side adopts an off-the-shoulder design. Petite pink bows accent the chest and cuffs, softening the structured feel of the plaid textile.

The dark lace ties around the waist required repeated adjustments to tie a crisp, beautiful bow at the back. The skirt is the most intricate part of the entire ensemble: the outer layer is a pink fabric adorned with irregular distressed cutouts that reveal the red floral print underneath, adding a visual lightness that prevents the skirt from looking heavy. Beneath it all lies tier upon tier of pleated white lace frills with immense volume, giving the lower silhouette substantial presence.

The Polearm in hand serves as the visual centerpiece; gripping the black handle adorned with golden accents, you can clearly feel the solid metallic heft, making slashing and dynamic stances look remarkably sharp. The red-and-white Fox mask worn overhead is the crowning touch, lending an air of mystery while echoing the red-and-white color scheme of the outfit. Because I was Trying on clothes indoors, mirror selfies were the most convenient way to document it. With the wide flare of the skirt and making sure the prop didn't drag on the floor, finding the right positioning took some care. The red-soled bow mules on my feet matched the overarching pink palette seamlessly.

The structured fabric of this style makes putting it on—and especially taking it off—quite laborious, requiring caution not to snag the delicate lace edging. For a stage- or combat-oriented Touhou Project outfit, mastering such an intricate, faithful costume certainly demands real physical effort. Used to everyday clothes, suddenly wearing a wide skirt and wielding a weapon meant taking care when turning in front of the mirror to avoid catching on nearby racks. Although the generous ruffles widen the upper silhouette, the peek of skin through the distressed skirt design balances the visual weight nicely.

Holding the Fox mask and Polearm instantly dialed in the overall fantasy atmosphere. When snapping photos, stabilizing the camera and the weapon required shifting my center of gravity.
