The main concept for this Tamamo no Mae cosplay shoot was directly matching the blue-and-white geometric grid background with the costume's color scheme. Studio shoots offer total control over lighting and backdrops, creating a clean, pure atmosphere that brings out character traits. Multiple lighting adjustments were made beforehand to ensure contrast and shadows revealed garment textures without overexposing white background elements.

The visual focal point lies in the layering and color blocking of this outfit. Dark blue and black main tones contrast sharply with the white inner collar and waistlining, accented nicely by a bright metallic ring ornament at the neckline. Off-the-shoulder cuts showcase shoulder and neck lines, while loose sleeve covers add a relaxed touch to a sleek design. The lower body's royal blue tights held high color purity, seamlessly matching the top's blue shades. Black platform thong sandals provided stability while elongating body proportions and maintaining overall color block balance.

Fluffy plush animal ears and a thick fox tail served as core soul elements. White inner fur and brown outer fur were clearly defined and securely fastened without shifting during movement. Two long side bangs framed the face over pink hair; pairing pink hair with blue and black garments created strong color contrast that stood out vividly against blue backdrops.

We tested two sets of compositions. In the first shot, sitting on a white cylindrical pedestal with legs naturally extended showcased the outfit's drape while seated, keeping the visual effect of the blue tights clean and sharp. The second setup switched to a dark brown wooden chair alongside a large prop featuring gold and white elements. The wooden chair provided warm contrast against the white pedestal, encouraging a more reserved posture while cascading white tassels enriched vertical lines.

Special thanks to photographer Yongzhe for masterful control over studio light and patient posture adjustments. We communicated repeatedly regarding positions, focal lengths, and angles—especially when coordinating props, chair, and movements in tight studio space to ensure balanced framing with the blue geometric background. Capturing clean blue-and-white visuals made all physical effort with tails and platform shoes worthwhile.
