Since the post description mentioned "where there's a treasure ship, there are naturally treasures," we'll follow this theme today and shoot a treasure-hunting-vibe outdoor shoot with this black-and-white magician outfit.

First, let's talk about the coordination details of this outfit. The classic large black hat with white lace trim, paired with long golden hair and straight bangs, is crucial for character fidelity. The upper body features an off-white lantern-sleeve shirt paired with a black vest with red trim and red buttons. The red ribbon bow at the collar serves as the visual focus, keeping the black-and-white scheme from looking too monotonous. The lower body consists of a brownish-yellow apron and a black ruffled ankle-length skirt, giving a vintage overall texture. For ease of movement and better proportions, I paired a black stocking outfit style with calf-high black socks and dark brown loafers. In the composition sitting on the wooden steps (Photo 3), I rested my chin on one hand, leaned forward slightly to reveal my calves in black socks, while resting the other hand casually on the staff. This sitting posture displayed the outfit's layers while looking relaxed and cozy. The curved doorway on the side of the wooden cabin was also perfect for half-body close-ups, where resting my hand on the big hat looked very natural. During the outdoor shoot, strong gusts often blew the wide hat brim crooked, so holding it with a hand became a natural part of the pose.

Another great location was the outdoor wasteland metal installation mentioned as the inspiration for the "treasure ship." It was a cabin-like structure built from scrap metal, sheet iron, and mechanical parts, surrounded by tall, withered yellow weeds. This rough, heavy-industrial texture environment fit a character like Marisa—who frequents the Forest of Magic—surprisingly well. In this scene, I could sit in the rusted cockpit or stand atop the mechanical structure holding up the staff. The cold hardness of metal contrasted nicely with the character's girlish charm, bringing an aura of adventure and treasure-hunting amidst the desolation.

We didn't miss out on indoor scenes either. In a vintage bookstore attic dominated by wooden structures, surrounded by bookshelves packed with books, accompanied by warm afternoon side light, the atmosphere was exceptionally quiet. Besides being a magician, character Marisa enjoys reading and collecting books. Sitting on a wooden crate, I flipped through a heavy book, picked up an acoustic guitar to play, or leaned against sloped ceiling boards covered in writing. Capturing these lifestyle-oriented scenes made the character feel livelier, as if she wasn't posing for photos, but genuinely researching magic or treasures inside this hidden bookstore.

Frankly, shooting outdoors in autumn under bright sunlight while wearing multiple layered clothes is physically exhausting, especially with a thick black long skirt and a heavy metallic staff. Combined with that giant black wide-brimmed hat, a slight gust of wind meant finding angles anew to keep the hat from blowing away while ensuring good light and shadow on my face, which genuinely tested the synergy between the photographer and me. But we lucked out with great weather that day; light was crisp enough to clearly capture fabric textures, lace trim patterns, and the red bow. Though the shooting process was hardworking, seeing the final photos capture the spirit of this classic character from Touhou Project made everything worth it.
