[Castorice cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail: Custom design cosplay of Lady Butterfly

Attending the Honkai: Star Rail-only convention today, I wore this light purple sailor suit dress created as a Custom design cosplay. To channel Lady Butterfly's essence, I specifically selected a pale purple wig and topped it with a black thorny headdress adorned with delicate blue and pink blossoms, accented by a violet diamond gemstone resting gracefully upon the forehead. The combination of the floral headpiece and thorny branches complemented the attire remarkably well, striking a refined balance that felt neither overly ostentatious nor understated, adding an edge of dark, cool glamour.

The sailor collar and the large pink bow carried substantial visual texture; I carefully adjusted the bow multiple times to enhance its three-dimensional fullness, ensuring it held its sculptural shape without sagging so it looked flawless on camera. The puff-sleeve tailoring flattered a petite silhouette, while the square-buckle leather belt neatly cinched the waistline. Crafted from a structured suiting fabric with a subtle shimmer, the textile caught the sunlight with a gentle pearlescent sheen that translated into premium texture on camera. Falling just above the knee, the skirt paired harmoniously with classic leather shoes to flatter natural body proportions.

For the makeup, I chose violet contact lenses paired with well-defined eyeliner and accented upper and lower lashes to make the eyes appear wide, luminous, and expressive. While I don't typically wear dramatic false eyelashes, I specifically picked a style with extended center clusters and tapered edges to give the eye makeup greater presence. Blush was applied strategically just beneath the eyes and swept across the cheekbones, blending cool aloofness with a touch of sweetness. The eyeshadow transitioned through smoky purple-gray hues to add depth and mystery to my gaze, while the soft dusty rose lipstick kept the lips understated, allowing the pink bow to remain the focal point.

The first photo was self-composed; I found that a slight low-angle upward perspective best showcased the delicate intricacies of the facial makeup and the thorny headpiece. The second photo was snapped by a friend near the venue entrance—natural sunlight streamed in from the side, casting a gentle rim-lit glow across the lavender dress that made my entire silhouette seem to radiate with an ethereal warmth. Rather than crowding around high-traffic photo spots, seeking out these quiet, well-illuminated corners allowed for images with wonderful clarity and translucence.

This post is going up rather late as it took considerable time to curate and edit the shots. Walking around the convention floor was an absolute delight. Even though this was an unofficial Custom design cosplay, the color palette and mood resonated deeply with the character's signature elegance and composed coolness.

I also ran into wonderful fellow fans at the Anime convention, helping one another take pictures and sharing styling insights, which made the experience incredibly fulfilling. While the thorny headdress felt slightly heavy, it remained securely anchored throughout the event without shifting. The final photos turned out splendidly; I truly love this balance of dark, mysterious undertones and delicate sweetness. The wig was somewhat tricky to manage because the long bangs kept falling into my eyes, so I carefully set them with hairspray to preserve an airy, voluminous curve.

Speaking of fun moments during the shoot, the venue was packed with attendees, and finding clean backlit angles under the blazing sun proved tricky amid the dense pedestrian traffic. Wandering over to the entrance, we noticed beautiful shafts of sunlight slicing through the door's opening, prompting us to immediately capture two shots that resulted in the soft optical halo seen in the second picture. In post-processing, I kept edits restrained, primarily cooling the purple tones to heighten the atmospheric depth.

Ultimately, attending this Honkai: Star Rail event was about immersing myself in the community atmosphere, capturing memorable photos, and celebrating our shared passion. Posting late came down to exhaustion from the commute and long hours spent color-grading the complex interplay between sunlight and indoor lamps until every frame felt right. Even as a personal interpretation, preserving this memory within the vibrant spirit of the fandom has left me deeply satisfied.
