[Shimoe Koharu Cosplay] A Lively Girl from Blue Archive, Spring Atmosphere in the Classroom

A lot of thought went into this Shimoe Koharu classroom daily life photo shoot, from initial concept to the actual session. Taking advantage of an event nearby with Linmeng Mama, we finally completed this Blue Archive campus-style classroom theme shoot smoothly.

For the overall outfit, the focus was on highlighting a lively yet playful vibe. The iconic pink halo on top, paired with the black cap structure and feather-textured decorations, turned out very accurate, which I'm quite happy with. The black top with a pink-and-white sailor collar, pink tie, and wine-red pleated skirt makes the color scheme super recognizable. The white over-the-knee leg covers are also a major visual highlight of the costume, lengthening body proportions while adding a lively feel to the classroom atmosphere.

The shoot location was set in a warm wooden-toned classroom with great natural light, complete with desks, chairs, and wooden bookshelves. The makeup artist specially emphasized the layered pink contacts and eyeshadow, making the eyes look bright and clever. During the shoot, we tried many different poses—for example, sitting on the edge of a desk while adjusting leg angles and prop placement to make the composition fuller. The chalk drawings on the blackboard were improvised by the photographer on the spot; the stick figures, hearts, and tiny stars added story and warmth to the empty board. The shot of reaching for a book on the shelf and turning around took several takes, aiming to capture that natural, vivid feeling of casually turning around after realizing someone is taking a quick photo.

My takeaway from this campus-style photo shoot is that for a character with so many intricate elements, captures must go beyond costume details—pose naturalness is key. You can't just pose rigidly; you really have to imagine yourself taking classes or playing in the classroom. Moments like lifting a leg, raising a hand, or sitting down require great rhythm and coordination with the photographer. For post-processing, no extreme filters were used; the focus was on restoring the warm yellow ambient light inside the room, making the color contrast of black, red, white, and pink in the outfit even more distinct.

The overall texture of the outfit turned out great in the photos; the layered feathers and the folds of the thigh-high socks are crisp and visible. In fact, this cosplay hides subtle details everywhere—such as how the bow is tied, the pink trim on the cuffs, and decorations on the waist. Paired with black uniform shoes, the overall look delivers a vibrant Shimoe Koharu. After multiple attempts and adjustments, seeing the youthfulness captured in the final photos made all the hard work completely worth it.
