[Koyanskaya cosplay] The All-Powerful Secretary from FGO Fate: Languid Hours in a Vintage Library

The conceptual angle for this shoot was not only Koyanskaya's core character design, but also the archetype of the all-powerful gorgeous secretary. To capture both intellect and mystique, I set the scene in a vintage library, incorporating props like an antique telephone and a terrestrial globe to establish a quiet, classical ambiance.

Once the shooting concept was finalized, the bulk of the prep work went into styling the costume and wig. The long pinkish-purple wig was time-consuming to manage, requiring careful sectioning to maintain volume and layered texture; paired with thin-frame glasses and a black bow, it immediately elevated the intellectual secretary persona. The outfit featured a red-and-white vintage dress tailored from structured red velvet fabric with ruffled inner trims, lending great three-dimensional structure. For the key leg styling, I chose white pantyhose paired with black pointed-toe high heels—a combination that faithfully adheres to the canon design while beautifully accentuating elongated leg lines on camera.

The shooting process was engaging. We utilized a wide-angle lens with a slightly tilted Dutch angle while I reclined across a wide, dark solid wood desk. Finding the right pose meant adjusting the red-and-white piano key prop multiple times, using the interplay between the keys and legs to break up visual monotony. Meanwhile, resting one foot on the vintage globe accentuated leg contours. The lighting setup employed a single-side key light, illuminating the subject brightly against the shadowed background. This dramatic contrast added depth while rendering the textures of the white stockings and heels with tactile realism.

Hard lighting hitting white stockings creates sharp specular highlights. To eliminate unnatural wrinkles from compression, we constantly reviewed test shots on the camera monitor, using hovering calves and pointed toes to maintain optimal stocking tension. Furthermore, this reclining posture demanded strong neck and core control to stay engaged rather than slouching flat on the desk. In post-processing, heavy alteration was avoided in favor of preserving authentic skin texture and fabric grain. The shallow depth of field along the bookshelves and background shadows fell into place naturally, ensuring a rich, immersive mood. Placing such a character in this setting expresses both her allure and a personal aesthetic preference.
