The photos from this Firefly ACG Expo are finally in my hands! I cosplayed Shimoe Koharu from Blue Archive. The core of this character is that vibe of being overly earnest yet a bit tsundere. So from the curvature of the wig's bangs to the slight redness at the corners of the eyes in the makeup, I wanted to stay as close as possible to her image of trying hard to maintain dignity while still carrying a sense of childish innocence. The costume was customized by referencing the concept art; the sailor collar paired with the loose black jacket and that pink bow tie doesn't feel heavy at all to wear, instead looking highly student-like.

The wings and the halo on top of the head are the heavy hitters of the props this time. To make the metallic texture look more realistic, some minor battle-damage details were added to the edges. Holding the little notebook truly gives an immersive feeling of "checking public morals." The temperature was very high on the day of the convention, and the crowd on-site was highly dense, but many fellow fans still recognized Koharu and came over to take photos together.

The cross-armed gesture in the third picture was actually a random snapshot on-site. Originally, I just wanted to alleviate some awkwardness, but I didn't expect the resulting vibe to incredibly fit Koharu's awkward personality of "even when doing strange things, it must be constrained by rules." As a coser, every outdoor photography session or convention stroll feels like a collision between the character and reality. From the texture of the headpiece and the folds of the skirt hem to the swaying effect of that pair of small black wings in the back, these actually all require repeated adjustments.

Although the shooting process was very tough and my makeup smudged many times, seeing the lens record moments exclusive to Koharu makes it all completely worth it. This outfit leans overall towards a casual mix-and-match style, and the red, black, and white color scheme is highly photogenic. It's especially suitable for my style of wandering around conventions looking for good lighting. Taking random shots on lawns and streets for outdoor photography turned out highly satisfying final cuts. I hope everyone can feel the sincerity of my hard work through these Anime cosplay photos.
