Taking advantage of the great weather, we finally completed this Blue Archive Highlander Twins Cosplay set featuring Green-haired elf ears cosplay and deep navy uniforms. We deliberately selected a coastal railway track as our primary outdoor location, because the real-world tracks, gravel beds, and ocean waves in the background genuinely fit that distinct railway patrol vibe the characters possess. Since this was the first time either of us tried this type of structured railway attire, we spent quite a bit of effort on gear details beforehand.
First, regarding the hairstyles: we chose lustrous mint-green wigs, deliberately avoiding curls to preserve their natural straight texture and airy lightness. The front bangs were trimmed straight and neat to complement the arc of the peaked cap resting above. The biggest challenge was securing the elf ears; with noticeable coastal winds, standard adhesive would easily loosen when turning our heads. Ultimately, we reinforced them with ear-hook double-sided tape and solid glue, keeping the ears firmly upright even in strong ocean breezes.
Regarding wardrobe, the deep navy blue jackets are quite formal, while bright blue piping along the chest and collar makes the darker base pop, complemented by golden button accents for great texture. The most delightful touch is the bright yellow braided cord and ring accessory on the shoulder, which softens the uniform's rigidity and adds a playful visual twist on camera. Crisp white gloves were another essential prop—especially for peace signs or lightly tapping cheeks, they draw visual focus to hand gestures far better than bare skin. The golden cloud-pattern emblem on the peaked cap is exquisitely detailed; to avoid casting shadows over our eyes during selfies, we wore the caps tilted slightly upward.
Ocean winds were quite strong on the day of the shoot, easily blowing stray strands of straight hair across our faces when facing into the wind. We frequently had to brush aside loose hairs and reapply styling spray during breaks to maintain clean layers. However, shooting in such windy outdoor conditions has its perk: capturing that exact moment when the breeze gently lifts the hair tips infuses the shot with authentic vitality and breathability.
For this shoot, we focused primarily on close-up duo selfies. Outdoor twin selfies are actually tougher than they seem: you have to ensure both facial expressions land simultaneously while managing height differences and shoulder spacing, where leaning in just slightly too close can crowd the frame edges. Thankfully, my partner @二到深处自然黑 and I shared great chemistry, reading each other's flow without needing words. Poses like resting a finger on the chin or flashing simultaneous V-signs came together quickly without endless retakes.
In post-processing, we avoided excessive filters, focusing instead on balancing the blues of the sea and sky, gently burning out overexposed edge highlights, and lifting natural facial lighting to keep the set bright, translucent, and fair. The textures of the railway gravel and distant rocky cliffs were carefully preserved, retaining environmental realism while honoring character fidelity.
