For this Honor of Kings Gongsun Li Cosplay shoot as the Jade Rabbit Princess, the chosen costume is the classic orange-toned two-piece skirt set. The cropped top paired with translucent sheer chiffon sleeves poses quite a challenge for shoulder and neckline silhouettes. The skirt features a multi-tiered striped design with high side slits; while this slit effectively showcases leg lines, posing demands careful attention to leg aesthetics—avoiding unflattering angles or bulges—which calls for crisp, clean movements. I primarily referenced classic poses from Exotic style dances, such as leg lifts and sleeve-swishing motions. While maintaining core stability, I shifted as much weight as possible onto the supporting leg, making it easier to control the lift height of the other leg and the extension angle of the arms. To complement the outfit, the headpieces were meticulously crafted: the large translucent bunny ears actually have internal support, making them heavy and prone to wobbling, so head turns had to be executed cautiously to avoid disarranging the wig. The makeup emphasized depth around the eyes and brows, with the red forehead Huadian marking being a key highlight, which together with exaggerated eye makeup enhanced an enigmatic allure.

The studio set for this shoot featured golden lotus lamps, a magic lamp brass kettle, and warm-toned autumn foliage. Ethnic-style mats and reflective gold fabric covered the floor, with light filtering through golden sheer curtains to create a warm, enveloping glow. I shot barefoot to better convey the lightness of a dancer character. For the first shot and the cover photo with the leg lift, extensive communication with the photographer regarding camera angles was necessary, taking numerous snapshots to capture the most natural moment. The three photos showcase full-body motion, a frontal pose, and close-up expressions respectively, which I feel successfully captured the essence of this character. I also gathered useful takeaways: high-slit skirts easily billow with air currents, requiring meticulous smoothing of folds. Furthermore, the rigid gold ornaments could easily snag or strike the sheer chiffon during swift spins. I hope these insights offer useful reference for future shoots in a similar style.

Another defining feature of this styling is the midriff-baring design, imposing rigorous demands on core muscle definition. Prior to the shoot, I engaged in extensive core workouts to ensure the waistline appeared toned from the side without any bunching in front. Additionally, the sheer weight of the intricate headpiece and gold jewelry demanded considerable stamina during dynamic poses. Especially while holding the single-leg balance pose with a shifted center of gravity, my toes had to grip the floor firmly to steady my entire frame, all while maintaining natural facial expressions—leaving my whole body in an intense state of stretch and tension. My muscles were visibly sore after wrapping up, but bringing this character to life made it completely worthwhile.

In cosplay creations, lighting is the soul; under warm lighting, this costume's translucency was exceptional. The semi-sheer chiffon effect seamlessly blended skin tones with the fabric, subtly revealing faint contours of skin to keep the entire look vibrant rather than static. Photographing different characters is always a fresh challenge; seamlessly weaving the skin design with dance elements made for a fascinating experience that pushed my mastery of dynamic posing even further.
