For this photoshoot, we selected a modified qipao with white stockings design with a white base, black borders, and Chinese window-lattice hollowed details, paired with pure white over-the-elbow gloves and matching tights, making the overall visual exceptionally clean. The wig features ultra-long silver-white hair with incredible volume, and the headpiece is layered with black and white bows and lace ribbons, forming a warm-and-cool contrast with the blue colored contacts. The shooting venue is a specially decorated Chinese study, complete with calligraphy scrolls, wooden-grid paper lanterns, and bamboo-and-stone potted landscapes, turning the atmosphere completely up to the max. Regarding the props, that blade with a black base and pink-purple gradient lighting effect is actually a customized lightweight tachi, with pink silk flowers tied to the hilt, offering great balance in hand without affecting pose movements. The first sitting pose on the chair was actually adjusted for a long time, both to let the skirt hem drape naturally without looking messy and to highlight the leg lines and glove details; ultimately, it took gently touching the chair surface with my tiptoes to find a comfortable angle. For the subsequent swinging and side-lying compositions, the photographer alternated between high-angle downward shots and low angles, focusing heavily on capturing the gaze and hand gestures. The sheer fabric of the clothing is very thin, so I had to constantly pay attention to the edges of the inner lining during the shoot. Fortunately, the overall silhouette is form-fitting, and the crisscrossing pearl chain design on the chest snaps right into the visual center. This time, we tried a cool-white high-key lighting setup to give the skin tone a porcelain-white look, and post-production only finely tuned the color balance, preserving the authentic texture of the calligraphy and wood grain. Every time I do a look with Eastern elements, I must be careful with the placement of hair and ribbons to avoid obscuring the facial contour. I am highly glad to capture this cool, serene yet gentle temperament. A lot of thought went into the tailoring of the clothing and the grooming of the wig, and I hope everyone can perceive the fusion of national style Zen aura and Anime-style photography aesthetics in this photoshoot.
