Sitting on a classroom desk while holding this red-and-white prohibition sign, I finally recreated Koharu, the \"disciplinary committee member\" who is both adorable and teasingly lovable. For this shoot, I intentionally adjusted the layering of the wig in the makeup and styling, allowing the light pink hair strands to appear lighter and softer under light refraction, striving to match the character's inherently lively yet slightly rebellious temperament.
Regarding the costume, the pink piping on the black base of the jacket flatters skin tone wonderfully. Paired with a white sailor collar and bow tie, it presents a lively Preppy style outfit atmosphere even in a slightly dimmer classroom environment. The magenta pleated skirt on the lower body is one of the key highlights, matching the White stockings featuring pink borders, which not only preserves the character's iconic elements but also elongates the overall visual proportions when walking or sitting. I deliberately wore round-toe platform leather shoes to balance the overall weight distribution, preventing a top-heavy appearance.
In terms of props, this time I prepared an exaggerated overhead halo and black feather decorations; the feather texture needed careful styling to remain fluffy so as not to look cheap. Her iconic \"prohibition sign\" is indeed an important prop restoring the lore. To add some contrast, I also held that long black rifle in several photos. In front of the blackboard filled with complex math formulas, holding the prohibition sign while pointing toward the lens, or carrying the gun with the gaze intentionally drifting away, both serve as fantastic emotional entry points.
The shooting location was chosen in a studio with a strong campus vibe. The blackboard was covered in chalk writing related to calculus and probability theory, along with some hand-drawn doodles. This setup fit the theme incredibly well; walking into the classroom instantly immersed me in that atmosphere of seemingly wanting to maintain discipline while actually needing supervision oneself. The wooden desks and chairs in the scene, alongside the easel next to them, provided great depth and layering for the frame. The photographer excelled at capturing candid moments during snapshots, such as a relaxed stretching posture while sitting on a chair, or holding a long rifle while turning back slightly to look over the shoulder, both appearing natural and full of tension.
The shooting day was actually quite exhausting, requiring constant switching between various postures and emotions, ensuring props didn't cause out-of-character slips, and keeping facial expressions from collapsing. Fortunately, early preparations were thorough, and communication with the photographer and assistant parties was smooth. I wanted to capture that contrasting sense of softness and bashfulness hidden beneath her seemingly angry blushed surface. Therefore, in emotion control, I didn't blindly strike a fierce look; instead, I added a bit of playfulness and mild smugness, making the resulting photos much more interactive and avoiding the rigidity of reciting a template.
Post-processing was primarily handled by myself, as the raw photos required fine-tuning in lighting and color to enhance their texture. When adjusting colors, I tried to maintain the warm tone of the classroom's wooden desks and chairs while ensuring that the pink hair, black jacket, and magenta skirt popped out. Since the chalk writing on the blackboard could easily cause visual interference, while preserving the original appearance of the environment, I slightly controlled the contrast of the blackboard area to focus viewers' attention more intensely on the subject.
Successfully shooting this photo set was thanks to the photographer's patient candid captures and the logistics team's help in arranging the disheveled feathers. Although many angles and postures were constantly adjusted, the final photo outcome was quite satisfying, capturing a large part of that tsundere yet super cute flavor of the character. As a serious campus-style concept execution, this experience is well worth preserving and building upon. I hope to expand into more interesting poses and compositions in similar environments in the future, mastering the costume texture and lighting-shadow control even better. As long as a bit of the character's original soul can be presented, all the repeated tossing and turning during the shooting process is completely worth it.
