For this Cosplay photo session prepared for White Rabbit Blanc, I made some brand-new attempts in terms of scene building and outfit styling, mainly divided into two completely different tonal aesthetics: Japanese-style photoshoot aesthetic and retro European style. For the costume, a black long coat was chosen, featuring subtle golden patterns and embroidery on the surface, paired with a white ruffled stand-up collar at the neckline, adorned with golden frog closures on the chest, layered over a black translucent bodysuit, and completed on the lower half with an intensely impactful miniskirt matched with high-sheen grey glossy pantyhose (Black stockings and high heels aesthetic). A white long straight wig paired with black branch-like hair accessories on top fundamentally restored White Rabbit Blanc's overall visual features in Goddess of Victory.
The first set of photos was completed in a tatami scene. The background includes Japanese paper sliding doors, a folding screen painted with a red sun motif, red oil-paper umbrellas hanging overhead, and artificial red maple leaves and Japanese lanterns scattered all around. To complement this scene, I sat on a wooden high stool with legs crossed—a pose that heavily tests waist and abdominal strength, requiring a tightened core to keep the upper body upright while allowing the leg lines to project optimal extension before the camera. The camera angle was tilted slightly upward, focusing on the texture presentation of the Black stockings and high heels (black patent leather pointed stiletto heels). The glossy stockings showcase subtle luster shifts under warm yellow lighting, while the patent surface of the high heels nicely contrasts with the fair skin tone. Holding a black card box as a prop, my facial expression aimed to convey an aloof and glamorous temperament.
The second set shifted to a vintage study setting. A leather vintage sofa with intricate carvings and dark red brocade patterns was paired with a dark wooden desk, a green banker's lamp, candleholders with long candles, and wine bottles, creating a clash of dark red and deep wood tones. In this scene, I opted for reclining and half-lying postures, using overhead or tilted camera angles to elongate body proportions through the perspective of a wide-angle lens. To emphasize a languid feel in this space, the positioning of the legs was adjusted many times, ultimately settling on a slightly bent and crossed posture to let the oily sheen of the stockings echo the red soles of the patent leather high heels within the frame.
Regarding the OOC apology mentioned in the post, indeed, in this photo set, to accommodate the two different ambient light environments and the costume's visual expressive power, I incorporated a lot of my personal understanding into the expressions and poses rather than strictly replicating fixed canonical movements. For example, leaning toward cool restraint in the Japanese scene, and leaning toward languor and opulence in the retro scene. If this diverges slightly from everyone's internal image of White Rabbit Blanc, please bear with me. A great deal of thought went into the lighting setup throughout the shoot—especially the reflective texture of the stockings, where slight overexposure would lose details, while being too dark failed to accentuate the material's properties, requiring repeated adjustments with the photographer to reach the final effect. Switching between two scenes also allowed me to experience completely different shooting rhythms, making it an exceptionally fulfilling Cosplay journey.
