[Oguri Cap cosplay] Umamusume: Pretty Derby: Daily Snaps of Eating a burger on Duty

This time, I'm sharing a car selfie set of my Oguri Cap cosplay from Umamusume: Pretty Derby, taken inside a car with natural light streaming through the side windows. The fabric of this purple-and-white sailor uniform is quite structured, and the puff sleeves at the cuffs provide a flattering touch. Securing the yellow diamond hair accessory and blue headband took quite a bit of time because of their three-dimensional structure. To make the eye makeup better fit Oguri Cap's aura, I wore large-diameter blue contact lenses and emphasized the blush beneath the corners of my eyes. The wig is silver-grey and long/straight; shaping the two high twin-tails on top required considerable effort to prevent them from messing up when turning around in the car.

As for the bow on the chest, it's the primary visual focal point, so I inserted some stiff interfacing inside to ensure it maintained great dimension under natural light. The golden U-shaped magnetic buckle was an extra addition I picked out myself, giving it a more refined texture than the stock version. Because this was shot inside a car with cramped space, the front-facing camera lens easily creates perspective distortion. I deliberately adjusted the angle I held the phone, coordinating with a seated half-body posture to make my face shape look more natural. I really like the first shot captured while eating a burger; Oguri Cap is famously known as a big foodie, and this casual feel of eating a burger in daily life fits the character design perfectly.

In terms of makeup, I focused heavily on skin texture to make the complexion look smooth and even. Post-processing mainly involved fine-tuning local lighting and shadows, such as highlights and shadows on the clothing, to give the outfit the dimensional feel of a 3D in-game model and avoid a flat look. Sitting inside the car, the lower body wasn't visible, so I didn't pair it with tights or stockings, focusing all attention on the layering of the upper body. The intersection of the waist belt and the seatbelt added a nice touch of everyday realism.

For the subsequent photos, I tried different facial expressions and hand poses, such as resting my chin on one hand or simply staring blankly at the camera. The compositions of the second and third photos are more classic and lean toward static display, while tilting my head slightly in the fourth photo looks relatively sweet and gentle. The purple tone of this outfit is quite sensitive to lighting—colors look drastically different between overcast and sunny days. Luckily, we had great weather, with green foliage visible through the window as a backdrop and warm-toned car seats beautifully complementing the cooler purple-and-white palette.

Since the setting was inside a private car, there was a high degree of freedom; without worrying about stares from passersby, I could freely adjust expressions while eating a burger or fixing my headpiece. The burger tasted pretty good too, and the text and logo on the wrapper served as great prop accents, giving the entire photo set a down-to-earth everyday atmosphere. Tucking the hair in place, adjusting the collar, making sure the contact lenses haven't shifted, and pressing the shutter—that was the full process behind this daily 2D car selfie shoot.
