This Touhou Project Kochiya Sanae Cosplay styling primarily revolves around the Green wig and the blue-and-white dress. For makeup, green colored contacts and pink-toned eyeshadow were the focus; defining the aegyo-sal gave the gaze a more youthful, maiden-like vibe, and the blush was applied somewhat heavily, which is an iconic visual trait in Sanae's design. The outfit features extensive blue-and-white floral patterns and lace ruffles, accented with a green floral ornament on the chest and paired with green frog hair accessories, completing all the character's signature elements.
Because the schedule was tight, I made a spontaneous decision to take these Car selfie shots inside a car. The cramped interior space combined with strong sideways sunlight presented quite a challenge for framing, and the wrinkles caused by the seatbelt pressing against the clothes were an added variable. However, the highlights created by this backlighting made the skin look exceptionally translucent. Posing with a V-sign peace gesture was meant to make the shot livelier, which fits the character's cheerful personality perfectly.
For Kochiya Sanae in Touhou Project, her lore is that of a wind priestess from Moriya Shrine, so her attire blends traditional shrine maiden robes with modern western dresses. For this shoot, I chose relatively soft fabric so that sitting in the cramped car wouldn't look too stiff, while matching the lace and floral patterns closely to her character features and faithfully replicating the hair accessories from her canon design.
Lastly, a few small takeaways on makeup: hairline management is crucial for a Green wig look—properly concealing the wig cap and blending the transition is essential to avoid an unnatural appearance. I also adjusted my Car selfie angles so the sunlight struck just below the eyes, making my gaze look more expressive and vivid. I hope everyone can appreciate the effort poured into this cosplay.
