[Takanashi Rikka cosplay] Pre-Convention Preparations for the Black Tights Outfit Look

Applying for the Independent anime convention tour at the 6th Custard Bun Wuxi Chinese Animation Carnival at Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center, I chose the character Takanashi Rikka. Embodying this role means costume accuracy and styling details must be handled with precision. I am wearing this blue school uniform blazer paired with a grey pleated skirt, specifically choosing black pantyhose underneath. Before shooting this set, I actually tried several different pairs of black stockings, as the leg silhouette greatly influences the overall temperament. This pair offers great elasticity without looking bulky; paired with the skirt, it flatters the leg lines into a slender look, and its subtle sheen harmonizes beautifully with the cool tones of the venue.

Beyond the costume, wig care was another top priority. Her hair color is a crisp, refreshing blue; to achieve natural layering, I spent substantial time cutting and styling it. I made fine adjustments using hair wax and setting spray so it preserves an Anime cosplay crispness without looking stiff or unnatural. After finishing my makeup, I deliberately studied my gaze in the mirror, figuring out how to capture Rikka's unique contrast of cool detachment mixed with tsundere shyness.

The plan for attending the convention is fully mapped out. The Taihu International Expo Center is massive—Halls B1 and B3 combined span 20,000 square meters. In particular, the indoor environment with floor-to-ceiling windows and ultra-high ceilings offers fantastic light translucency, ideal for telephoto lenses to capture depth and cool-toned, atmospheric portraits. I'll also bring my go-to props to enrich the shoot, aiming to produce multiple high-quality photos on the convention floor. During shooting, positioning, angles, and slightly bending the knees all affect the visual proportions of the Black tights outfit and pleated skirt. I've already communicated with the photographer to aim for clean, sharp compositions. I'm also mentally prepared for the dense crowds, planning to scout quieter or more unique corners for shooting.

Tickets and transportation are all confirmed. Taking Metro Line 4 to Expo Center Station Exit 4 makes getting there very convenient, and there is parking outside, so there is no worry about running late. I heard there is also a food area on-site, perfect for grabbing a bite to recharge afterwards. Though it's my first time doing an Independent anime convention tour at this venue, my mindset feels calm and steady. The moment I stepped into this outfit, I felt fully immersed in the character's emotional world, completely ready to dive into the vibrant expo atmosphere. For this convention, my goal is to experience the character authentically as myself, maximize the aesthetic advantages of the Black tights outfit and uniform, savor every shutter click, and hopefully connect with fellow fans who appreciate this Anime cosplay aesthetic.
