From the initial makeup test to releasing this official photoshoot, a lot of time was spent polishing every detail of this Delusion Angel Chinatsu cosplay. After all, the in-game 3D model is rich in detail, and recreating that lightweight yet lively mechanical aesthetic in reality places high demands on costume fabrics and prop design.
Let's start with the outfit's composition. The upper body features a white shirt paired with a red tie; the small pattern on the tie and the black heart ornament at the collar were both hand-sewn on stitch by stitch. Pink shoulder harness straps combine with the Pink and white striped outfit arm warmers to create an instant visual clash of retro and cyberpunk styles. The lower half features a black multi-tiered ruffled tutu skirt. While the fabric looks substantial, the layers of the skirt flare out distinctly during jumping and active movement, making the entire silhouette look wonderfully agile.
The most eye-catching part is probably the leg design: white distressed over-the-knee stockings paired with pink-and-white striped leg warmers, complemented by a pink leather strap on the left thigh and a black strap on the right knee, creating immense depth. Such asymmetrical styling is common in anime character designs; for a cosplayer, careful angle alignment is needed during shoots to avoid visual imbalance. The footwear consists of chunky white platform sneakers with metallic buckles, offering a solid presence that matches the vibrant, energetic style perfectly.
In terms of props, the iconic oversized Megaphone prop was an absolute must. The megaphone is predominantly white with mint-green accents around the rear and grip; its wide flare gives it a tremendous physical presence in hand. Holding such a large prop actually helps body expression during photography, allowing for natural limb extensions into expressive, high-tension poses like shouting or saluting.
The wig features a mint-green to white gradient, paired with iconic bangs, mint-green geometric hairpins on the side, and a black sci-fi totem emblem on the forehead. To maintain fluffy volume, the hairstyle was carefully sculpted with hairspray so it held its silhouette cleanly under stage lighting. The makeup differed from everyday styles; to match the Anime cosplay characteristics, the eye makeup was emphasized to make facial features look more defined and youthful.
The shooting location was set on an elevated metal stage, illuminated by purplish-blue neon mood lighting and targeted spotlights. The scene incorporated yellow-and-black hazard caution tape, metal scaffolding, and glowing monitor screens in the background, which resonated perfectly with the elevated stages and bustling cityscapes in Zenless Zone Zero. Smoke effects were added on-site; under the beams of light, the penetrating illumination sculpted my silhouette crisply. When shooting, I attempted dynamic snapshots wielding the Megaphone prop in a mid-jump shouting pose, as well as static standing shots saluting the camera, striving to capture the character's confident, energetic, and slightly cheeky personality.
In post-processing, no heavy special effects were added; the main focus was brightening up the dim ambient lighting on site to faithfully restore the pink and white hues of the garment, while preserving the cold, reflective texture of the metal stage. Seeing the finished photoshoot results fills me with a sense of accomplishment. Every step—from choosing the character, crafting the costume, studying poses, to the final shoot and retouching—is tedious, but bringing a character from the screen into reality with such vivid texture is truly rewarding. This outfit is exceptionally photogenic and ideally suited for scenes drenched in neon lights and industrial aesthetics.
