This blue-and-white Qianqianwan look was specially prepared for the Firefly ACG Expo. From garment tailoring to wig styling, considerable pre-production time was dedicated to fine adjustments. The layering of the costume is striking: the bodice pairs light blue fabric with spliced white lace, accented by delicate chest strapping, dimensional white floral appliques, a pearl necklace, and a sapphire pendant, contouring bodily curves gracefully. The skirt consists of multiple layers of tulle—an outer layer of semi-sheer crisp white tulle over a deep blue lining—draping with fluid grace during movement to flatter leg lines cleanly.
The convention grounds were packed; the oversized white ruffled hat and the glitter-highlighted wig turned heads, yet introduced practical challenges for framing. Because the hat was massive, finding angles free of unwanted obstruction was difficult; the photographer spent much of the time guiding head tilts to keep facial features well-lit without casting harsh brim shadows across the eyes. For the location, we utilized a roadway outside the halls; though backed by urban streets and convention attendees, wide-aperture bokeh blurred the distractions to isolate the main subject cleanly.
To flatter the entire silhouette, we explored several camera angles. Glancing back while standing and mid-body portraits prioritized soft, natural expression control. Seated and crouching poses demanded even greater postural discipline, particularly with semi-sheer white Stockings and bow-adorned pale blue high heels. To elongate leg proportions visually, upward-tilted low angles were heavily favored, requiring me to keep toes firmly pointed while balancing on heels—a true test of stamina and core stability. The Stockings carried a subtle pearlescent shimmer that glowed beautifully under specific angles, prompting the photographer to add ample bounce fill.
That defines the charm of Convention photos: moving and shooting concurrently is exhausting, yet deeply immersive. The styling contains rich accents—such as puff-sleeve tailoring paired with lace fingerless gloves and intricate headpieces—which, while tedious to wear, paid off in visual quality. The crouching shot in particular highlighted the waistline and legs with centered framing that kept every edge intact. The overall look channeled a luminous, dreamy oceanic aura. Pulling off this ensemble took substantial effort, but the polished texture of the finished selects provided a deeply satisfying reward, offering great lighting inspirations for future Blue-themed cosplay projects.
