[Takanashi Rikka cosplay] Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions: Nighttime Water park Swimsuit Photoshoot Log

"The Tyrant's Eye is unleashed—prepare for a splash attack!" This time, I'm sharing the Rikka swimsuit photo set taken at the Chimelong Water park. The temperature was pleasant that day, but since we shot at night, the water was a bit chilly. Fortunately, the entire shoot went smoothly, and the photographer was exceptionally quick on the shutter. For the frontal standing shot in the third photo especially, I held my hands on my hips and stabilized my pose for quite a while to align with the flash strobe's angle; happily, the resulting texture had great visual tension, and the red-and-white polka-dot Bikini looked remarkably vibrant against the dark nightscape tones.

This outfit has numerous small details, mainly the little white plush charms hanging from the shoulder straps and waistband, which required repeated securing with safety pins and fishing line to prevent them from dropping off after soaking in water or moving around. The red star-shaped glasses perched on my head were specially chosen, paired with a yellow bow ribbon and a purplish-blue wig. Adding the blue colored contact lens and the white bandage on my left arm truly elevated the overall accuracy of this Takanashi Rikka cosplay. Although the orange toy water gun in hand was lightweight, holding it up at a fixed angle in the water was quite an arm workout.

About half of the shoot was spent submerged in the water. The ruffled trim along the shorts became somewhat heavy from water absorption, so I paid close attention to adjusting my standing stance to make my legs appear elongated while keeping the Bikini look crisp and clean. The character inherently possesses a dash of tsundere attitude and vibrant 2D energy, so my gaze deliberately channeled a proud, spirited flair; over-the-shoulder glances and half-kneeling poses in the water were also staged to amplify dynamic motion. For shoots with this theme, I always prepare thoroughly in advance—applying waterproof, sweat-resistant foundation, securing the wig firmly against splashing, and constantly monitoring the placement of the rear reflector.

I really love the composition by the poolside steps: the background's metal railings and alternating warm-cool lights lent strong depth of field, looking like a secret playground in the night. We avoided peak crowd hours that evening, so the surroundings were quiet with only the sounds of water and camera shutters—a truly immersive photoshoot experience. We didn't force complex poses, instead relying primarily on eye contact and hand-held props to convey the character's chuunibyou essence. The lighting for this set was a realistic night setup that kept the skin looking radiant and translucent, without excessive smoothing in post-processing to preserve genuine skin texture. The wig bangs were lightly styled in the water with a slightly damp, casual look to stay authentic to actual water play. Hanging out by the pool and diving straight in to swim after wrapping the shoot was an absolute blast; despite soaking for hours being tiring, the clean, refreshing quality of the photos made this a very special cosplay experience.
