Stepping into this classroom full of youthful vibes, looking at the familiar yet weathered desks and the playful hand-drawn graffiti on the blackboard, I changed into this blue-and-white uniform. Today, I'm going to present that student council president who always loves to doze off lazily in class.
The reason I chose a classroom scene for this shoot is mainly because I felt this combination of sailor uniform elements and a suspender pleated skirt requires real wooden tables, chairs, and a blackboard background to truly bring out that daily campus texture. The pink halo accessory with a circular pattern on top of my head is the soul of the entire look. Fixing it onto the wig took quite a lot of thought; I used hidden spring clips to ensure stability without making the hair strands look messy. I am highly satisfied with the effect of the heterochromia colored contacts on my face. My eyes can present a state where cool detachment and nimbleness coexist. Combined with the soft long straight pink hair and slightly wispy bangs, it better outlines the character's seemingly casual yet vibrant traits. This captures the essence of Classroom photography.
In terms of clothing, I made careful pairings. A bright blue satin tie is tied at the collar of the white shirt, and this light-and-dark color contrast beautifully brightens the skin tone. The deep blue suspenders not only feature a minimalist buckle design but also tighten the waistline, making the short cut of the pleated skirt look cleaner. Details like the half-finger tactical gloves and the accessory ID badge underwent multiple adjustments at every step, aiming to align with the original work's setting while making the overall look seem more layered and practical. The pure white over-the-knee socks straightened the leg lines, which, combined with movements like sitting, kneeling, and dangling legs in the scene, perfectly restored that playful feeling of a school underclassman. This perfectly shows the charm of an Anime-style school uniform.
During the on-site shooting process, the photographer Xiaomeng and I cooperated with seamless synergy. During the shoot, we cleverly utilized the soft transition between natural light and studio lights in the classroom to make the skin tone look translucent and natural. The first few photos leaning against the back of the chair focused on displaying a relaxed and comfortable leisure state. When it came to the shot sitting on the desk surface with legs gently dangling, I took the opportunity to raise my hand and make a playful gesture; the overall composition perfectly balanced the frame's tension. In the shot squatting on the wooden floor, I intentionally let the hair tips scatter slightly, utilizing the stretching effect of a wide-angle lens to make the entire character more three-dimensional. I even actually lay face down on the desk to rest during shooting intervals to experience that unique gap moe of being both lazy and reliable under the heavy burden of schoolwork for this Takanashi Hoshino cosplay.
Friends familiar with this character might remember that classic vibe from her lines, so today in the studio, I kept substituting myself into that uncle-like mature yet slightly dazed mindset to interact with the "Sensei" behind the lens. In the spacious real classroom of Luma Studio, some patterns I casually sketched with chalk on the blackboard happened to become a unique background embellishment in this set of photos. The scattered blue small plushies around and the schoolbag placed in the corner completely maximized the narrative feel of the entire scene for this Blue Archive shoot.
From costume preparation and prop manufacturing to makeup/hair design and real-scene shooting, I tried my best to achieve perfection in the details of every process for this cosplay. I hope to bring a character from the 2D plane into reality, presenting a campus atmosphere full of life to everyone who loves this uniform, and accurately conveying the character's personality charm through the lens.
