[Kisaki Cosplay] Blue Archive's Executive President: The Collision of Qipao and Firearms

Kisaki in Blue Archive, full name Ryuge Kisaki, is usually called the Executive President by everyone. This time, I attempted to recreate her outfit in her Qipao design, completing this photoshoot in the studio with photographer Lao Soda. The pure white background rendered the texture of the costume and props in the cleanest possible way.

For costume details, I chose a dark blue modified Qipao fabric with subtle surface textures, embroidered with a golden coiled dragon motif across the front, and a blue jade button at the collar as a visual focal point. This color scheme conveys both Chinese elegance and aligns with the character's sharp temperament. To match her official design, I wore a black wig styled into her signature twin buns, specifically adding a cluster of blue floral hair accessories on one side to achieve color harmony from top to bottom.

The standing pose in Photo 1 is my personal favorite, featuring an open and balanced framing. I intentionally didn't put the long striped coat all the way on, instead letting it drape loosely over my shoulders; combined with the sleeveless cut of the Qipao, it perfectly highlighted the shoulder-neck line and arm contours. The lower half was paired with semi-sheer black tights, black patent leather heels, and black silk gloves, which looked great under the lens—soft lighting cast a subtle rim glow on the tights, contrasting with the Qipao's sheen. Standing upright while holding the rifle further underscored the character's calm, confident demeanor.

Photo 2 switched to a kneeling position, paired with a vintage brown leather suitcase with brass corners. My left arm cradled the rifle against my side while my right hand rested naturally on top of the trunk. This composition added narrative depth, reminiscent of specific operational scenes. However, due to the high slit design of the dress, the composition in that pose easily felt scattered, so I added black censorship blocks in post-processing. Though visually a bit abrupt, I wanted to preserve that vintage and restrained tension.

The prop rifle used in this shoot also had fantastic texture; the wood-grain stock and black-lacquered barrel collided with the Oriental element of the Qipao without any sense of dissonance, instead creating a rugged visual focal point against the pure white background. Huge thanks to the photographer for providing the professional studio and lighting setup—the beauty of studio shooting is being able to dedicate full energy to capturing character facial expressions.

Regarding expressiveness, I hoped to channel the President's elegant, calm, yet powerful traits into every pose. The high slit of the Qipao is one of the souls of this look, striking a fine balance between modern allure and classical beauty when paired with semi-sheer black tights and gloves. The magic of cosplay lies in that moment when you put on the outfit and grip that prop gun—it feels as if you instantly resonate with the character's core. Against the white background, every detail—from the embroidered gold dragon pattern to the direction of the Qipao frog buttons—is clearly visible without distracting elements.
