To capture this Blue Archive Swimsuit look in its prime state, we scouted this sun-drenched outdoor pool in advance. Strong afternoon reflections off the water risked flattening facial details, so the photographer set two bounce reflectors on the poolside and flank for fill light, keeping the overall tonal palette wonderfully luminous and clean.
Prep for the wig demanded the most time. The long pink twin-tails were trimmed carefully, shaped with a curling wand for a soft, natural curve and graceful drape. The pink halo over the crown was custom-cut from acrylic; early attempts with wire had rough edges, so ordering a custom piece proved ideal. Red spherical hair ties provided the signature accent, anchored firmly at the base of both pigtails. The matching Swimsuit came in pristine white; the fabric was delightfully light without turning overly sheer when wet. Waterproof setting spray kept the makeup intact even as water splashed across my face.
For props, the large pink-and-white swim ring was great for waist-up water framing. The blue-and-white inflatable whale was remarkably buoyant; getting it to stand upright on the water took considerable trial and error to find the sweet balance spot. Freezing splash dynamics required repeatedly kicking and splashing water, while pacing through the pool several times nailed the optimal water spray.
I especially love the poolside seated framing. With the sun slanting in, the photographer had me sit at the pool's edge, using a telephoto lens to dissolve background greenery while accentuating sleek leg lines. Dangling my feet over the water with reflector fill caught natural ripples dancing over my ankles, streamlining post-production light tuning. Soaking in the pool made the bottom slippery, yet it facilitated an effortless, laid-back posture.
Reviewing raw frames during breaks confirmed the overhead and side-sitting angles were gorgeous. Post-processing retained an airy, translucent finish, preserving the turquoise hues of the pool without excessive digital effects. The shoot was pure joy—gratitude to the photographer's compositional eye and dedication in refining angles. Cooperating in the water brought Anime-style photography to life, balancing summer waterside cool with vibrant energy.
