For this Fuzhou FCZ convention, I cosplayed Xiao Qiao's Manga Sorceress from Honor of Kings. This outfit has so many design details; the asymmetrical cutout at the neckline and the gradient purple patterns on the chest have much more depth in person than in official images. The wig features a blue-and-pink gradient, and it took a long time to process the small bun on top and the wispy hair on both sides. To restore that lightweight, magical feel, hair wax was used to set the strands, ensuring it wouldn't collapse while walking around the convention. The skirt hem is made of a translucent pearlescent fabric with two layers of lining underneath, showing off a high-slit line when sitting down. However, to prevent any accidental exposure, I wore safety shorts underneath, which made moving around much more worry-free. The armor and ribbons on the wrists are made of rigid materials, which made posing a bit stiff, but I endured it for the completeness of the look. The lighting on-site was quite complex, so I specially found a backdrop with a cooler tone to make the white dress and blue hair look cleaner. Regarding the "sense of naturalness" that everyone mentions, I feel that cosplay doesn't always have to be rigidly posed; relaxed body language actually fits the playful yet slightly mysterious temperament of the Manga Sorceress much better. This shoot was mainly completed by myself using a phone and a fill light. I left a lot of breathing room in the composition, and during post-processing, I only adjusted the color balance without excessive skin smoothing, preserving the skin's authentic texture. The atmosphere at Fuzhou FCZ was great, with many fellow enthusiasts exchanging costume details, and I also learned some new tricks. Additionally, regarding the "apologies to everyone" mentioned in the post, it was purely because I accidentally bumped into someone else's prop near the booth at the time and had already apologized in person, so I just mentioned it in the caption. In short, this cosplay gave me a new understanding of the character. The texture of the clothing, the smoothness of the wig, and the weight-bearing of the accessories—every step is worth pondering. I hope this share allows everyone to see a different side of Xiao Qiao, showing that she can be highly design-oriented, not just cute.
