This photoshoot plan was originally aimed at capturing evening primroses, fitting perfectly with the quote from the original post: \"No matter how cold the other shore is, there will still be the fragrance of flowers.\" The entire shoot took place amidst dense outdoor greenery, an environment that presented quite a challenge for managing the wig and jewelry—especially the bangs and wig tips, which were easily snagged by flower branches.
The wig in the photo features a sheer, light purple shade with straight bangs. During the shoot, gentle breezes occasionally ruffled the bangs, adding a touch of spontaneous vitality instead. The headpiece was rich in detail: three small flowers in a purple, pink, and white palette adorned the black thorn wreath, with yellow stamens blending seamlessly with the hair color. The attached elf ears possessed a skin-toned, semi-transparent texture with subtle pink gradients at the tips, appearing far more natural and fitting better than plain white prosthetic ears.
As for the makeup, special thanks go to Xiao Lanzi (a full-time makeup artist from Chengdu) for her exceptionally detailed technique. The eye makeup utilized pinkish-purple blending, highly unified with the outfit's color scheme. The overall makeup felt luminous, with naturally blended blush that avoided overly emphasizing facial contours, preserving a cool yet soft aura for this Elf makeup and styling without feeling heavy or mask-like under natural outdoor lighting.
The purple tulle gloves worn in the photo served as a highlight of the ensemble, with light filtering through the finger webs feeling remarkably airy amidst the flowers. Deep purple butterfly ornaments on the arms, semi-sheer white floral decorations, and ruffled soft lace at the neckline layered beautifully against the white-to-purple gradient base. The shoulder bow ties and cuff details also revealed thoughtful tailoring from a behind-the-scenes perspective.
These two BTS photos were candidly captured by Guihai, our assistant sister. Compared to the strict composition of official shots, ACG behind-the-scenes highlights natural spontaneity. The chin-resting gesture in Photo 1 was actually caught while I was adjusting my elf ear placement; the clasped hands in Photo 2 captured my genuinely relaxed state. BTS photos like these often better showcase garment textures and the natural flow of hair strands in real environments.
In terms of color harmony, the pale purple face, dark purple glove accents, and blurred, pink-and-white bokeh of evening primroses paired with green foliage created a delightfully dreamlike visual effect. Utilizing mostly half-body close-ups during the shoot emphasized the lines of the elf ears, collarbone, and neck, preventing lower plant branches from cluttering the frame.
Delivering a complete cosplay is far more than just a set of clothes and makeup; it encompasses coordinating makeup colors with props, styling the wig, and guiding poses during Cosplay photography. The calm, gentle atmosphere achieved in the final images came to fruition only after extensive preparation on stage and behind the scenes. This shooting experience was immensely enjoyable, providing a wonderful opportunity to capture ideal BTS close-ups during peak bloom.
