Let's show you Yao's Realm of Time's Wishes styling this time. The visual core of this styling is definitely the pair of translucent elf wings behind and the rather heavy magic wand in hand. To restore this wand at the convention, a lot of thought went into polishing the undulations of the metallic texture beforehand. Solid materials plus the internal glowing light strip make it quite heavy in hand; swinging it with one hand to keep balance still requires a bit of practice. The wig was trimmed into classic light golden twintails. To better fit the character, styling hair wax and setting spray were used to ensure the bangs and sideburns wouldn't collapse throughout the day. In terms of makeup, to match the dreamy feel of the costume, the base makeup was done very cleanly, and the eye makeup chose pink-purple contact lenses, coupled with slightly fluffy false eyelashes to make the gaze look softer.
The layering of the costume was also a focus of this preparation. This skirt adopts a multi-layered design; the outer layer of organza and satin have different reflective effects under the lights, and the star gemstone accessories on the chest and skirt hem are all fixed individually. Matching this styling, I chose white stockings and matching small leather shoes, which can better lengthen the overall proportions. At the convention site, this kind of pure white stockings is very difficult to shoot under lights and easily gets overexposed, so I specially found a convention corner with slightly darker reflective flooring, and cooperated with the photographer's fill light to capture this effect with glossiness without being dead white.
This time I also tried several groups of different actions. Kneeling and standing postures can well showcase the fluffiness of the skirt hem, while the action of lifting one leg and slightly tilting can make the arc of the skirt hem prettier, and also display the white stockings and leg lines. However, the weight of the wand is right there; after shooting a few sets of actions, my arms were indeed a bit sore. While adjusting actions, I also had to pay attention to ensuring the wig and wings didn't clip through models or fall off. The whole process really tested physical strength and patience.
Because I really like the skin setting of Realm of Time's Wishes, from costume patterning to prop making, and now to the final photos, although the whole process was complicated, seeing the effect presented in the lens gives a real sense of achievement. The lighting conditions at the exhibition site this time were relatively messy; thanks to the photographer's lighting and positioning cooperation, we got these relatively satisfactory photos. Putting on and taking off this equipment both require someone's help, especially the wings on the back and the straps around the waist. If you want to wear this styling to roam around a large venue, it is strongly recommended to bring a partner to help hold the skirt hem and carry props, otherwise by the afternoon you will be choked out of breath by the skirt.
