Putting on Xishi cosplay with the Dragon's Clear Silhouette style, I walked into the long corridor of Garden Expo Park holding that textured blue dragon ball. Photographer @Qianhe📸 managed the lighting and frame structure very cleanly; when the natural light hit the blue-and-white light gauze, the translucent color looked exceptionally bright. This costume has many skirt hems and streamers, and combined with the silhouette of the tall boots, it required repeated adjustments before the shoot to ensure every tailored angle could showcase a sense of lightness. The wig features a light-colored gradient and a slightly wavy style, forming a well-coordinated look with the dragon horn ornaments on the head. For the details, hairspray was used to slightly secure the hair tips to prevent them from getting messy and frizzy in the wind.

The Chinese-style columns and wooden chairs in the park blend very naturally with the ancient style elements of Dragon's Clear Silhouette, enriching the depth of the frame. The light was quite sufficient that day. To avoid harsh facial shadows caused by intense sunlight, we frequently utilized building shadows or shifted positions during the shoot. The makeup leaned toward an elegant, clear, and translucent look to match the character design, with a seamless base, aiming to capture that composed cool demeanor combined with gentleness in the eyes. The dragon ball in my hand was the perfect finishing touch; I tried overlapping my hands as well as single-hand holding gestures, and the alignment of the rings and armor plates also needed to harmonize with the overall look. The design of the boots and pants legs brought a rather troublesome issue for putting them on and taking them off, and I had to adjust my foot posture several times in the middle to keep the frame clean and sharp.

This was a very delightful real-scene shoot. Although an outdoor location shoot drains physical energy, the breeze passing through the environment perfectly lifted the skirt, making the final photos even more dynamic. Compared to studio shoots, the shifting light and shadow in the gardens provide more creative space. While arranging the hair, makeup, and costume can be time-consuming, this kind of experience is precisely where the charm of cosplaying lies. The core of restoring this character lies in temperament; not only does the styling need to be on point, but one's posture and micro-expressions must also keep up. This time, I also put some effort into studying the movements.
