This time, I chose this look for Ushio Kofune and completed a photoshoot full of summer vibes by the beach. As an Ushio Kofune cosplay, that freshness and vitality belonging to a beach girl are the most important things. To stay close to the character's everyday feel and readiness for combat, I chose this retro dark blue one-piece swimsuit with off-white trim. Long blonde hair is the character's iconic feature; when styling it, I deliberately let the strands maintain a natural, messy look in the sea breeze, which fits her character background of living on an island year-round better than a purely smooth look.

When recreating the character of Ushio Kofune, I paid special attention to her trait of combining innocence with resoluteness. Although this swimsuit photo look seems like playing on the beach, I constantly reminded myself to convey the tension of her being ready to fight at any moment. For instance, in the photo by the breakwater, I intentionally held back my smile and focused my eyes, expressing an investigation of the unknown through a slightly leaning-forward body posture. This is exactly her charm as the core figure in Summer Time Rendering: seemingly an ordinary high school girl, yet carrying the determination to protect everything. These movements of moving through the water and reefs are the results of our repeated adjustments; it could neither look too restrained nor too relaxed, maintaining a very subtle sense of balance.

The sea breeze was actually very strong during the shoot, making it feel like capturing every moment of "Ushio" amid the wild dancing waves. To better recreate Ushio Kofune's agile and slightly dashing traits, I incorporated some half-squatting, looking-back, and even target-searching "defensive stances" on the beach into my physical movements. In the shot where I squat by the water, the waves happen to wash over my feet, instantly pushing the tension of the frame to the maximum. Also, for the pose standing in front of the breakwater, the moment I reached out my hand, the photographer happened to capture the shift in my body's center of gravity as I stepped forward and leaned in. That feeling of being ready to take action at any second felt completely spot-on, without the stiffness of forced posing.

The most thrilling part of doing Anime cosplay is not just putting on the clothes, but truly bringing yourself into the time and space of that character. Ushio Kofune has an extraordinary memory and an extremely resilient personality in the anime. I wanted to express her pureness that requires no filter modifications through this set of relatively natural, even slightly raw and realistic beach photography. Although today's shooting process was a bit tiring—the pebbles on the beach made the soles of my feet tingle and numb, and the seawater felt a bit chilly after soaking the edge of my skirt—at the moment where light and shadow intertwined, seeing the water droplets on my body reflect tiny points of light in the viewfinder made it all worth it. The photographer's composition was indeed brilliant, perfectly integrating the seawater, reefs, and distant green mountains into the story background, leaving just the right amount of blank space.
