Shooting this set of Zenless Zone Zero Seed cosplay photos took place on site at the offline ChaPanda collaboration event. To match the overall atmosphere, I chose a wooden bench as the primary backdrop while holding the collaboration drink in hand, which not only added variety to hand poses but also blended seamlessly with the on-site environment.
The light blue wig chosen for this look felt visually refreshing; the sideburn trimming and the iconic flared tuft on top were secured in place to ensure the strands kept their natural shape even when turning around or looking down. The wig itself boasts a great sheen, exuding a subtle cool-toned luster under natural lighting.
In terms of clothing, this white techwear uniform has plenty of noteworthy details. The most distinctive aspect is the cutout and lace-up design on the back; while putting it on and taking it off takes extra time, it fits the body contours snugly once worn, looking exceptionally sharp and sleek. The primary white base spliced with contrasting gray-black and yellow panels creates rich visual layering without appearing cluttered. For the gloves, I wore long white tactical gloves with tailored fingertip wraps so they didn't feel clumsy while holding the drink.
The paneling on the lower half is equally bold, with black modular patches and circular protective structures paired with thigh straps. While this techwear design commonly appears in industrial settings, placing it on a wooden bench created a striking contrast. The straps around the ankles were originally meant to secure the pant cuffs, but at this particular angle paired with a barefoot posture, they seamlessly matched the character's unconstrained, casual vibe. To get that glance-back pose just right, I readjusted my sitting posture several times to present a comfortable, natural curve across the shoulders and waistline before the lens.
The sunlight was rather harsh that day, so to prevent facial highlights from blowing out, the photographer and I used a reflector for fill light to soften facial contours. In truth, the biggest joy of shooting at an IP-themed booth is standing at the photo-op spot and instantly connecting with passing fellow fans over an unspoken mutual passion.
The entire shoot lasted about an hour. Even with just a single bench and a backdrop board, playing with composition and body language allowed us to convey diverse vibes. When managing details, I stayed as close as possible to the original character design to interpret that blend of everyday nonchalance and combat readiness. Cosplay is never just about putting on a costume; it's about capturing the character's state of mind in that specific setting.
As for makeup, I specifically opted for a natural, translucent base, downplaying foundation heaviness while emphasizing eye contours and color. Green contact lenses and elongated eyeliner made the eyes appear more spirited when looking up and glancing back. For Seed, aggressive heavy makeup isn't needed—instead, a fresh, natural look that blends organically into everyday environments works best.
With many pedestrians passing by during the shoot, I felt a bit shy at first. But as I gradually immersed myself into character, interacting with the drink in hand and hair motion quickly brought out a relaxed and confident energy. The rich texture and warm color of the slatted wooden bench added a cozy, vintage tone to the frame, contrasting gorgeously against the cool-toned outfit.
Overall, preparing this Seed cosplay look for the ChaPanda collaboration—from fabric selection and wig styling to accessorizing—was entirely conceived step by step on my own. The candid, slice-of-life joy of the final photos is completely different from a studio or stage shoot, aligning closely with how I envision the character's daily life. I hope this photo set lets everyone feel my understanding of and dedication to this portrayal.
