This set of Marin Kitagawa that I cosplayed this time is actually her rather casual yet slightly sexy everyday civilian style. The previous work unexpectedly went viral, which flustered me a bit. Thinking that since everyone wants to see Marin so much, I might as well release these two lakeside photos that were gathering dust in my phone's album. To be honest, I was quite unsure of myself when shooting this set; the wind was very strong that day, and my hair was always blown a bit messy. Feeling that my state wasn't the most perfect, I genuinely hadn't planned on posting them. But when looking back later, I felt that the light and shadow on my face from the sunlight were exceptionally translucent, and combined with that casual, lazy vibe, it unexpectedly matched the feeling of Marin's daily life.

Let's talk about the details of this pairing. The lightweight white cover-up is tied casually in a knot at the chest, just enough to reveal the black strappy inner layer underneath; I really like this subtle, semi-translucent layering. For the bottoms, I paired it with blue denim shorts with distressed edges, creating a very typical summer poolside gyaru outfit. To restore Marin's vibe of being both cheerful and carrying a hint of temptation to the maximum extent, I deliberately wore pink-toned contact lenses for the makeup, and chose a light golden long straight wig with a slight hint of pink, complete with her signature blunt bangs. To keep the wig's edges from looking too rigid, I spent a lot of time trimming and adjusting the curve of the bangs, trying to make it fit the face shape while looking more natural. Makeup and styling truly take up a huge amount of effort when cosplaying such characters.

The weather on the day of the shoot was truly wonderful. The mottled light and shadow of sunlight filtering through the leaves onto the black mesh lounge chair directly saved a lot of trouble with fill lighting; the lighting in the unedited raw photos was already gorgeous. That huge blue shark plush toy is an extremely useful interactive prop; whether placing it beside me or hugging it like in the second photo, it immediately adds a lot of lively and cute atmosphere. Personally, I really like the sideways-lying stretched posture in the second picture. Although I was a bit restrained facing the lens at first, I gradually relaxed later, holding the pink sunglasses with one hand and looking at the lens, which instead created an unintentional sense of relaxation, and the leg lines were also very nicely elongated.

As someone who frequently cosplays, preparing costumes, props, and makeup/styling every time actually takes a lot of dedication and hard work. Marin as a character is full of vitality and deeply passionate about the things she loves, so in terms of actions and expressions, I also tried to appear as natural and relaxed as possible, avoiding deliberate over-the-top posing. Although these two photos were originally discarded shots that I thought weren't quite perfect, re-examining them now, they instead possess a sense of authentic record. It's as if Marin really spent a carefree and leisurely time with you by the pool on a certain summer afternoon, wearing casual clothes, without too much deliberate effort—just the breeze and sunlight of that moment.
