This light blonde straight bangs look paired with the gyaru-style school uniform outfit shows great care in both the lighting atmosphere and details. The photographer, Gojo-kun, said that when putting on this outfit for Marin Kitagawa cosplay, my temperament unconsciously aligns with the character's everyday school life, but I think it's more about the synergy achieved by the two of us. The classroom's distinct warm yellow sunset light shines on the wooden desks and floor, creating a lazy after-school vibe that was frozen perfectly by the lens.
For the styling of the wig and the parted bangs, as well as details like the lip piercing and the thin black choker, I intentionally preserved those elements from the original work that are slightly punk and rebellious, yet sweet at their core. The hem of the white shirt is knotted at the waist and paired with a grey-blue tie. This not only raises the waistline but also brings out a highly vivid sense of movement when paired with a kneeling posture, making the overall style better match the "everyday yet very special" feeling of Anime-style fashion in my mind.
During composition, I placed the center of gravity slightly on the support of my knees and waist. Utilizing this slightly upward-looking camera angle with a calm, slightly cool gaze perfectly displays the character's personal traits. The facial details in the first close-up shot, with the warm highlights hitting the bridge of the nose and bangs, give a very solid overall texture, making the visual impact and atmosphere just perfect as a cover. The second wide-angle shot presents a larger classroom environment, making the details of the desks and schoolbags clear, which makes the sense of immersion in the scene much stronger.
This set of works didn't intentionally pursue exaggerated poses or backgrounds, but stayed as close as possible to a realistic school background to restore the character's casual state. Gojo-kun also followed this mindset in color grading, avoiding overly brilliant and exaggerated contrasting colors. Instead, he made the frames warm, quiet, and filled with a touch of intimate privacy. I hope this Cosplay photoshoot can express that sense of carefree comfort after school, breaking away from the heavy daily schoolwork. It beautifully represents the essence of My Dress-Up Darling through our campus photography.
