[Seele Vollerei Cosplay] The Unique Charm of Honkai Impact 3rd Mirrored Flourishes Qipao - Image 1

Wearing this Mirrored Flourishes Qipao version of Seele was actually much more exciting than I had anticipated. When I first decided to cosplay this character, there were many complex design considerations, but the moment I actually saw the physical outfit and put it on, I truly felt the sense of connection it brought. That mirror selfie above was taken casually in the dorm room during a fitting. To record the overall back effect, I specifically found a mirror to check the drape of the flowers and mesh skirt on the back. This angle shows a large portion of the back structure of the outfit. The design interwoven with red and black is very eye-catching, especially the edge decorations composed of bright red flowers, extending along the shoulders all the way to the arms. It has both the dreamy quality of the original design and the crisp beauty of a modernized Qipao.

I really need to highlight the shawl and accessories made for me by Guimi; a lot of heart went into them. The outline and saturation of the shawl were handled just right—whether draped over the body or stored away, its three-dimensional structure maintains very well. The black semi-transparent tulle mesh forms a strong contrast with the bright red flowers. This red-and-black color-blocking is classic to the character's setting. Under close-up shots, you can see the detailed red textures on the shoulder and that glossy finish, making the texture feel quite authentic. Paired with the black lace choker around the neck, the visual focus of the entire look is nicely concentrated on the shoulder and collarbone area, adding a touch of playfulness without losing the sharpness of a battle girl.

Because the shoot took place in a dorm room, the space was indeed quite cramped, with the upper bunk frame and bright green cabinet occupying most of the background, but this unexpectedly gave the photos a unique, relatable atmosphere. Sometimes restoring a character doesn't always require shooting in a grand studio. Recording the fitting state in a cozy everyday environment like this can actually convey the true wearing experience of the outfit more clearly. Especially that moment facing away from the camera to take a selfie with the phone, balancing the overall pose and position was necessary. Although the angle was limited, the black tulle skirt behind and the subtly visible stocking details, along with the black shoes at the bottom, still showed nice depth and layers in the mirror.

Cosplaying one's ultimate main character is truly an exciting yet challenging process. For Seele, I have always had a lot of emotional attachment deep down. Her dual-personality setting and the trait of coexisting vulnerability and resilience have always attracted me deeply. Choosing the Mirrored Flourishes outfit this time incorporates highly modern floral elements within the traditional Qipao framework, perfectly matching her subtle yet sharp personality. Therefore, during early preparations, I really wanted to combine the charm of the Qipao with Seele's unique delicate beauty, which is why I paid so much attention to details like tailoring and embroidery.

As for the current presentation, from the highlighted colors of the wig to the various outfit details, I'm overall quite satisfied. The red and black gradient short hair required a certain technique to maintain natural fluffiness, and it echoed well with the headpiece and floral elements on the body. Using a Qipao approach to interpret Seele this time was a very special experience that gave me a deeper understanding of the character. If I do a full outdoor shoot in the future, I might pick some more atmospheric outdoor locations, such as traditional Chinese architecture or bamboo forests, to match the cool, knightly temperament of this outfit. I hope to show everyone more of the clever details and ideas of Mirrored Flourishes through the lens then. After the fitting, my overall feeling is that although it carries traces of a traditional Qipao in its design, the addition of modern elements makes it very lively and easy to pull off. Ultimately, different people have completely different understandings of the same costume, which is precisely where the joy of cosplay lies.
