Directly to the point, this set of photos primarily wants to capture that sense of flawless, crystal-like holiness of Elysia.
For the interpretation of this Pink Fairy character, I believe it cannot just stop at surface-level cuteness; she also possesses a sacred, all-embracing quality, which is exactly why I chose this backdrop and styling. During the shoot, we specifically chose this environment with vintage geometric window frames and hazy gauze curtains. These architectural elements and lightweight drapery can beautifully bring out the character's celestial aura. The light diffuses down from above and the side; this soft, high-key light is perfect for displaying Elysia's fair complexion and pink long hair. To prevent the wig from looking cluttered under such high-brightness lighting, I spent a lot of time styling it, repeatedly combing it with a comb to create an airy feel, and then fixing the slight curls at the hair ends to make it look voluminous yet maintain the hair strands' luster.
In terms of clothing, to match her gorgeous yet lightweight setting, I specially selected multiple layers of white light gauze as the main body of the dress. This material presents a semi-transparent texture under the light, which is extremely dreamlike. The pink-purple thin gauze streamers and choker embellished the overall color palette, keeping the frame from being monotone while also echoing her color scheme. The detail that satisfies me the most is the golden chains around the waist; they are not draped randomly but arranged multiple times so that a well-scattered rhythm can be seen even in static frames. These metallic materials form a highly powerful contrast in visual texture with the soft, thin fabric, enhancing the exquisiteness of the entire work.
For the makeup, to maximize the recreation of her unique purple eyes on camera, I specifically chose customized colored contacts with a comfortable wearing experience, while coordinating with eyeshadow containing pearlescent polarization. This ensures that the gaze still appears deep and bright in a side-backlit environment. White gloves, as her iconic accessory, played a great embellishing role, making her look more elegant. In guiding the shooting actions, the photographer and I communicated repeatedly and tried various postures, ultimately selecting this secure yet extended posture shown in the photo, with hands naturally folded and the head slightly tilted, aiming to convey that calm, gentle, and dignified feeling. I think the most charming part of cosplay is at that specific moment when it feels like a cross-dimensional resonance is truly generated with the character.
To build out this theme of 'holiness,' the team put a lot of hard work into the lighting. The photographer used a large-scale softbox to reduce harsh shadows as much as possible, rendering the overall frame a high-key, clean visual style. Although this light seems simple, it heavily tests the model's facial bone structure. To keep the facial contours three-dimensional under uniform lighting, we constantly fine-tuned the facial direction during shooting intervals to ensure every photo was in its best state. In post-processing color grading, we did not deliberately deepen the contrast but maintained the frame's brightness and transparency, making the atmosphere of the entire set closer to a 'Dreamy portrait' or a 'sacred temple' vibe. After these few days of shooting and editing, upon seeing the final results, I feel a huge sense of accomplishment regarding this presentation of Elysia. On this path of cosplay, every creation treated with seriousness is a beautiful step upward.
