This set of finished cosplay photos of Moriya Suwako from Touhou Project has finally been retouched, and I'd love to share the shooting details with everyone. Designing and adjusting the outfit took considerable thought; the traditional brocade damask across the chest features wonderful texture, with floral embroideries glistening delicately under the light. Combined with wide white sleeves and a tiered skirt, it visually balances traditional Japanese style with pastoral charm. To capture the character's blend of playful mischief and divinity, I prepared a frayed-brim straw hat and fluffy white accessories. The little green frog charm dangling at the waist was handmade by me—a neat finishing touch that breathed extra life into the character. For the wig, I selected vibrant golden long straight hair; the blunt bangs and red cords tied on both sides framed the face into a lively silhouette. As the apex of native gods in lore, I wanted to convey a sense of carefree freedom within nature—playful yet carrying a subtle majestic presence, with a gaze that holds spiritual spark without looking overly mature.

The location was chosen in a woodland area with flowing water and lush greenery. To match her attributes, the prop master prepared giant lotus leaves and a golden ring—the golden ring was actually an adapted prop designed to evoke Shinto ritual implements. Standing on river stones in a stream severely tested balance; wearing White stockings and loafers near the water required utmost caution to maintain relaxed postures while avoiding slips. Posing along the water initially meant dealing with uneven stones, so I explored several stances, such as resting lightly on one foot or shifting my center of gravity backward, which stabilized my balance while flattering leg contours. I adore the natural lighting created by the green foliage and water reflections in this set; the voluminous white sleeves and White stockings formed sharp, luminous contrast against the darker woods.

This photo set owes much to the patient guidance of photographer 'Cat Rejected You'. We wandered back and forth through the woods chasing light, since dappled woodland shadows often cast uneven spots across the face, requiring constant adjustments to our spots. In shots where I held the lotus leaf overhead for backlit glow, holding it high while keeping my face relaxed left my arms quite sore after several takes. The shots over the water demanded an aura of weightlessness, never betraying any strain of balancing on slippery stones. The overall mood was joyful; despite mosquitoes in the forest, creative energy stayed soaring.

Cosplaying Moriya Suwako fulfilled a long-held wish of mine. From refining wardrobe nuances to crafting props and performing in an authentic natural habitat, every step aimed to honor her symbiosis with nature. Bringing this Frog Girl deity to life by the forest stream was truly a deeply satisfying creative journey.
