Taking advantage of the cherry blossom season, I finally shot this set of casual outfits for Kamisato Ayaka from Genshin Impact. For the costume, I chose a white cross-collar top paired with a navy pleated skirt. The light blue tie at the waist and the iconic pink mizuhiki knot hair accessory restored the character's details as much as possible. The wooden sword was also specially customized by a prop master; its weight and grip are very close to a real training bamboo sword, allowing me to feel the dynamic tension of martial arts movements when wielding it.

The outdoor location was chosen in a blooming cherry blossom forest. The lighting happened to be the side-backlight around three or four o'clock in the afternoon, giving the silver-blue hair of the wig a translucent texture. To express Ayaka's temperament, which combines noble elegance with the crispness of a swordsmanship practitioner, I tried several different poses during the shoot—the first picture shows holding the sword with both hands preparing to start, and the last picture captures the moment the wooden sword swings out horizontally during a turn. Paired with the petals falling in the air, it perfectly froze the character's sense of movement.

For the makeup, the eye makeup emphasized the blue colored contacts and a slight redness at the outer corners of the eyes to make the gaze look colder and more determined, while the lip color was chosen to be an orange-toned glossy texture to echo the pink cherry blossom background. The shooting process was actually a test of physical endurance. Repeating the movements with the wooden sword put quite a burden on my wrists, and there were also many insects outdoors. However, seeing the Japanese style aesthetic of springtime in the final photos made everything worth it. The entire set of photos did not undergo excessive post-processing, mainly preserving the skin tone and clothing textures under natural light, hoping to convey Ayaka's relaxing yet heroic side in the spring for this piece of Anime-style photography.
