[Cyrene Cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail's Pink Dreamy Journey

The opportunity for this shoot stemmed from my affection for the Omphalos region. Wanting to replicate that dreamy quality in a real-world setting, the selection of costume materials and the pairing of props became the top priorities for this shoot. This blue-purple tone robe coat uses a fabric with a certain matte texture, forming a visual contrast with the white inner top. The black leather straps at the cuffs are the most detail-dense part of the entire costume. The straps are overlaid with golden rune prints, and before putting it on, I needed to repeatedly adjust the tightness of the buckles to ensure that the straps could fit the arm contours while keeping the letters neatly aligned without severe twisting or deformation. The black shiny leather armor on the shoulders not only enhances the three-dimensional feel of the upper body but also eliminates the monotony of pure-colored fabrics. Combined with the neck ornament featuring sapphires embedded with metal rings, it beautifully fills the negative space around the neck. A white three-dimensional bow acts as a transition between the coat and the inner top, neutralizing the toughness brought by the leather material.

In terms of hair and makeup for this pink hair cosplay, the pink short wig's strands are quite fine and soft, and the stray lock of hair (ahoge) on top required micro-adjustments with hair wax and setting spray to support a natural curve. To match the character's traits, the makeup used a pink-brown eyeshadow for a large area of base coating, with the outer corners slightly darkened to emphasize the contours. Paired with high-saturation blue contact lenses, this allows the gaze to remain clear and agile even under the overall high-soft light environment. Both the blush and lip gloss are peach tones with a delicate pearlescent feel, making the facial colors echo the pink tones of the hair.

The shooting venue was chosen in an indoor space with European architectural features, decorated with white Roman columns and pink-textured arched windows. To match the softness required for the frame, two fill lights were used for lighting: a main light illuminated the face from the front upper angle, and a side light was responsible for brightening the shadows and eliminating harsh shadows, making the skin texture look finer. The white marble pedestal built in the scene and the large areas of pink simulation floral art on both sides wrapped the character perfectly, creating an immersive feeling of being in a garden.

This shoot was equipped with two sets of props to express different temperaments. When holding the magic book with a blue cover, giving off a Magical Girl vibe, the overall posture leaned towards being gentle and introverted. The silver crest printed on the pages had a certain reflective effect under the light, and the angle of opening it needed to be managed in coordination with the lens perspective. When switching to the white crescent-shaped long staff, the visual tension of the frame instantly strengthened, showcasing a more stretched and commanding posture overall. The overall baked paint texture of the staff would reflect light slightly under strong illumination, so the holding direction needed to be constantly adjusted on-site to avoid reflections affecting the prop's shape itself.

Throughout the entire shooting process, the rhythm of switching props and adjusting postures was quite compact. Because the costume contained a large number of straps and layered patchwork, every change in movement required smoothing out the skirt hem and rearranging the opening of the coat to ensure the frame did not look messy. The photographer's guidance was also highly professional. In the process of repeatedly adjusting the aperture and shutter to capture the refraction of light, it indeed required maintaining a certain level of focus. Although this shoot was a studio shoot completed indoors, the final atmospheric tone, as well as the coordination among the costume, hair, makeup, and scene, beautifully responded to my initial expectations for this Omphalos-themed creation.
