As the cosplayer recreating this look, I've always felt that capturing a moment that resonates with the character's temperament is infinitely more important than simply putting on a costume.
What drew me most to this outfit was its layering and mystical aura. The dark blue outer robe, light purple inner layer, and white base mesh together; though intricate, as long as the tailoring holds its shape, it creates a very slimming silhouette. I particularly must praise the white rune patterns around the cuffs, which are stitched with three-dimensional precision, perfectly fitting the character's mysterious lore when flipping through ancient texts. As for the golden necklace set with a blue gem, I meticulously polished the metal before shooting to ensure striking reflections against these colors. The ring on my hand served as another highlight—the golden feather ornament between my fingers easily captures visual focus during guiding gestures.
For wig styling, a lighter pink shade was chosen this time. To present a fluffy, soft sense of motion, the stylist added loose curls at the ends and toned down harsh highlights with a matte spray, giving hair strands a natural texture under overhead spotlights. The white feather hair ornament was securely pinned near my ear, remaining firmly in place even when bowing my head to turn pages during the shoot.
There were two main shooting locations today. The first was a venue with a dark red carpet and a vintage wooden door. I loved the warm side lighting there; the photographer asked me to squat down casually, yielding the first photo. That pose required keeping my center of gravity steady while maintaining a relaxed, natural posture. Strappy sandals combined with a light skirt hem added a refreshing breeze to the mysterious look. The second scenario took place in a pure white, bright hall. Abundant lighting here worked marvelously to highlight the costume's authentic color details. I held that thick Magical ancient book prop, which carried quite a solid weight. Maintaining the open-book angle while posing with one finger pointing upward required my core to stay engaged throughout. Though my arms felt sore afterward, seeing the finished photo capture that focused gaze looking forward—as if explaining a magical principle—made every bit of effort worth it.
I also made subtle adjustments to my makeup for this shoot. Instead of elongating the eyeliner, I used a softer smudging technique, choosing a pink-blue eyeshadow palette to echo my hair color. Paired with clear blue contact lenses, this gave my gaze a brighter, clearer quality. Lip makeup favored a natural nude pink to avoid stealing the show, achieving harmonious unity across makeup and styling.
Preparing this outfit reminded me deeply that a great Anime cosplay experience isn't about how extravagant a costume is, but whether you can convey a character's core trait to viewers through body language, hair-and-makeup details, and scene emotion.
